Had the pleasure of coaching this beauty this past month, focused on the nutritional program with not as much physical and in month 1 she is down 13.1 lbs and 2.5 inches off her waist. Getting ready for the next round, keeping the program going and increasing her training! She’ll be running LA (marathon) in 2020 ❤️💪

Hi there! Anyone else LOVE pancakes as much as I do??

Well I was in the mood for pancakes today (always in the mood for pancakes, but more than usual today)... so i made this batch of deliciousness 😋

I’m currently on day 3 of my awesome 30Day nutritional reset program (I’m bringing sexy back 😉), and so I’ve eliminated gluten for the duration of the cleanse (great way to find out if you have a gluten sensitivity btw!)... But today, I was craving pancakes (stress, maybe? That darn Cortisol is the ultimate culprit in increasing our appetite and making us crave sugary or salty foods👎)...

Did I mention I’m bringing sexy back? So yeah.. pancakes don’t fit in that equation... or do they??

They can! I indulged and enjoyed some Protein packed, gluten free, low glycemic pancakes.. and I’m glad to report that I’m a happy girl, and didn’t fall off my wagon!! 🙌

Want to try them for yourself?

1 cup organic coconut flour
1 serving vanilla protein (I used Arbonne plant based protein - 2 scoops)
1/2 cup of almond milk (or water if preferred)
3 eggs

Topping:

1 dollop of Organic Almond Butter
drizzle of Organic Agave Nectar
Dash of cinnamon

I’ll just place this right here! If you are focused on your health and fitness, but have a sweet tooth (like me 😋), here’s an awesome healthier version of one of my favorite desserts..Remember, moderation! 👍

The best gluten free brownie recipe on the internet: fudgy, flourless almond butter brownies made in one bowl with 8 simple ingredients. Yum!

A healthy gut is key to our overall health, because everything begins there! We know what we eat greatly affects our gut health, but did you know that exercise does, too? Check out this great read on the benefits of cardiovascular exercise for gut health! 💪

Microscopic gut bacteria and the gut microbiome have been getting a lot of attention lately, but because this is a growing area of research, it can be challenging to understand the science or know how to separate the hype from the reality. This article examines why cardiorespiratory exercise is impo...

Ran my first mile of the year this evening... Correction. My first run/walk because I’d slow down to a power walk for 1 minute at about every quarter mile 😭I feel both disappointed and accomplished. Disappointed because 1) Clearly I’m deconditioned [Yes, I know I just had a baby 8 weeks ago, but I’m generally hard on myself lol 🤷🏽‍♀️]. 2) I was hoping to be able to sustain running the entire mile. 3) It was only a mile, and I had to really push myself just to complete it. 4)My hips were really tight, and I know it was affecting how I run... need to incorporate focused hip and glute strengthening every opportunity I can to address this... I felt accomplished because 1) I sucked it up and completed the goal despite that little voice in between my ears reminding me of how tired I was and that I could just stop and try again another day. 2)I did it after my class. I know that affected my performance on this run, but it was the only time I could do it in good conscience knowing that Mike was at home with the baby and no milk pumped.😫 3) A 10’21” mile after over a year since my last run, slowing to walk 3 times for about a minute each, a baby, and having taught a class where I gave my all right before...Not too bad when considering all of that... So, although the disappointments slightly outweigh the feelings of accomplishment, I’m okay with this. Because I know that my body is still healing from pushing out a baby.. I know I need to start slow anyway. And I know with consistency, I am going to achieve all of the goals I’ve set for this year, and I will be stronger to set even more awesome goals next year, Lord willing! Will keep tracking the runs to assess improvements as I work up to my intended 1/2 marathon run training plan! What fitness goals are you working toward achieving?
