Bio

I began to play guitar at age 16 (like many of us do!) I had a background in music at that time- singing and piano (by ear with some lessons). As a youth I would captivate my friends with Bohemian Rhapsody and some YES (Rick Wakeman) piano solos. But when I picked up the guitar it was such a thrill for me that I let go of the piano. We had a baby grand in the house and it wasn’t as transportable as the guitar, haha. And lucky me, I got to learn on a Martin D-28. My boyfriend gave me basic lessons and he was one of those that would practice three hours a day. (more common in those days than now). I learned my foundation that way, and built upon it over the years, working with and around a variety of other guitarists and their styles.

Looking forward to using my unique musical background in passing on the knowledge and ,enthusiasm of music to your student. ntly Redlands Festival Singers for 2 seasons), a folk group, a rock group and many church groups. As a worship leader. I have been the staff church Music Director at 2 Inland Empire churches, where I have led via guitar, and even developed a new Contemporary Worship Service. “Vocally” speaking (haha)- besides training and instruction from a variety of music directors, I have had the privilege of learning from the famous Billy Purnell for about one year. Billy helped me regain my voice after the terrible ordeal of developing vocal nodules. Never take warm-ups for granted -lesson learned! I have always enjoyed picking out harmonies, which comes naturally for me more than most people, and I have come to view this as a gift passed down from my mom. (Thanks, mom!)

I am looking forward to using my unique musical background in passing on the knowledge and enthusiasm of music to your student.
