One of my favorite couples! 😊 It has been such a privilege to teach the chair strength class. I’ve met some truly wonderful people that I can call my friends.
My husband and I love everything about the Shasta Family YMCA—the number and variety of classes for every age and ability, the cleanliness of the facilities, the quality of the instructors, and the inclusiveness and kindness of the entire staff. I am a longtime yoga participant, and when Abby’s Chair Strength class was first offered in February 2023, we both became faithful attendees. We plan our Mondays and Fridays around these incredible sessions that include elements of cardio, strength building with leg weights, dumb bells, and other devices, balance, flexibility, and even mental exercise. We felt ourselves gaining strength and endurance, but after a recent bone scan, I was most delighted to find that my bone density had increased and the chance of fracture percentages had been reduced since my last study. I attribute this improvement to the Chair Strength class—because that is the only thing that I had altered in the past two years. Plus, it’s fun! Abby is a supportive and professional instructor, and we have gained many friendships through the camaraderie she encourages.
