Multiple permit on the board, different anglers, different moments—but the same process behind all of it. Reading the light, adjusting the angle, trusting the guide, and making it count when the window opens.

Some shots come while wading tight to the edge. Others from the skiff, with just enough wind to make it interesting. Bonefish mixed in, barracuda keeping things honest—but this one was clearly about permit.

Not all flats are the same.

Some look easy—clear water, bright sky, fish around. But once you step on the platform, you realize how much it takes. Wind shifting just enough, light changing, fish sliding in and out of range.

Permit that test your patience. Bonefish tight to the edge that give you one clean shot. Barracuda that appear out of nowhere and demand an instant decision.

Long days on the flats, switching between wading and the skiff, reading the light, adjusting angles, and staying ready. Some chances come slow… others explode out of nowhere.

Juvenile tarpon rolling in the shallows, barracuda cutting through the edges, and plenty of moments where everything lines up for a few seconds—and that’s all you get.
