Happy 4th of July from the heart of Red River, New Mexico! 🇺🇸🐎

We are celebrating the U.S. Semi-Quincentennial in classic mountain town style today! The parade will be in full swing, featuring heavily decorated floats from local businesses and families, classic cars, equestrian riders (cowboys and cowgirls showcasing their horsemanship), marching bands, and our proud riders carrying the Stars & Stripes and the New Mexico flag right down Main Street.

Here is a fun piece of trivia for your holiday cookouts: While today marks the spectacular 250th Anniversary of the United States' independence, we are actually celebrating our 251st Independence Day! (Since the very first one took place on July 4, 1776).

Wishing everyone a safe, beautiful, and patriotic holiday in the mountains! Let freedom ring! 🔔✨

Just about an hour's drive from Red River is the John Dunn Bridge across the stunning Rio Grande Gorge! 🦅 Check out this incredible flyover of the historic John Dunn Bridge.

Spanning the Rio Grande near Arroyo Hondo, New Mexico, this bridge sits right at the heart of a breathtaking 800-foot-deep geological masterpiece. Originally built in 1908 by John Dunn—a former outlaw who became an instrumental entrepreneur in Taos' development—the bridge we see today is actually the third version, completed in 1930.

As the drone sweeps over the rugged basalt cliffs, you can see the winding dirt road, County Road B-007, making its steep descent into the gorge. It is one of the few drivable access points to the river within the Rio Grande del Norte National Monument. Down along the banks, you can spot parked cars where visitors gather to enjoy the area; it's a popular launch point for kayakers and whitewater rafters taking on the famous 18-mile "Taos Box" section of the river, as well as a prime spot for fly fishing and exploring the nearby Black Rock Hot Springs.

Such a perfect day to capture the rugged beauty of northern New Mexico from above! ☀️🏞️

Look at this lonely fella! 🚠 The Copper Chair is hanging out quietly, taking a long nap until the snow flies again in late fall.

But honestly? We think it's dreaming about summer tourism! It's been a long time since it's seen any hikers, mountain bikers, and sunshine seekers. The mountains are absolutely beautiful right now. Come on up, enjoy the fresh air, awesome fishing, and hiking, and keep the town lively while the Copper Chair rests up for winter! ☀️🌲🏔️

Today, we pause to honor the men and women who made the ultimate sacrifice for our country. Memorial Day is a day of solemn remembrance, reflection, and profound gratitude.

We remember those whose futures were given to secure our own. Their selflessness, service, and courage define our nation and ensure our freedom.

As we express our deepest appreciation, let us commit to living by the virtues they demonstrated. We are, and will forever be, in their debt. We will never forget.

🕯️ A moment of silence. A lifetime of gratitude.
