Now that a few days have passed, we wanted to talk about the Olive City Showdown. Just like any event, there will be the happy and the unhappy, but hopefully we can all agree that what Kevin and his crew at Elevate Race Promotions have done thus far is something unprecedented for the sport. In the 40+ years of Outlaw Karts, there are very few events that have been able to draw 377 entries with just seven classes, and it’s right here in our backyard now. Their team has quickly built a crown jewel event, and there will be flaws, but overall you have to commend the effort they’ve made to try and showcase our sport at a venue that’s never even seen a kart before. It’s easy to focus on the negative aspects, but there are a lot of positives that are overlooked that their team nailed as well. Not many people are willing to put their time, money and effort on the line like the people involved in this event do, no matter what their role was. The Olive City Showdown has potential to be the Tulsa Shootout of our community, but it can’t be done in one try.

Everyone in attendance spent a lot of money to be there, we get that, but in life you learn from the mistakes and this event won’t be any different. Heading into a new venue, they had to learn the strong and weak points, and it will only get better from here. Give it another chance, and we bet a lot of things change in a positive way. All of us tend to forget that these events are optional, if Kevin decides he’s had enough of the negative posts and texts, we will lose one of our biggest races in the snap of a finger.

Props to all 377 entrants for sacrificing your time and money to compete at the event, as well as everyone involved in promoting, sponsoring, officiating, managing and supporting it. Each and every person on that premises this weekend is what keeps the blood pumping for the entire sport. It was awesome to see old and new faces alike congregating at one spectacular event. 👏

What an incredible weekend at the 2026 Olive City Showdown Outlaw Kart Race! With a massive $75,000 purse on the line, the competition was fierce and the energy was unmatched from start to finish.

We want to send a huge THANK YOU to the promoters and everyone behind the scenes who put on such a first-class event. Tracks like this don’t happen without a tremendous amount of hard work, and it showed in every detail.

A special congratulations to Braedon Enos for being one of the select few drivers to battle his way into the A Main Event — a serious accomplishment against some of the best talent in outlaw kart racing. Your grit, focus, and drive make us proud!

Weekends like this remind us why we love racing — family, horsepower, competition, and memories that last a lifetime.
