Our program is primarily geared towards the development or proper stroke techniques in young athletes as well as bringing new families in to a sport that can be enjoyable for all. We also look to place a high emphasis on good sportsmanship, goal setting, and competing for the enjoyment of the sport. This summer we will be focusing primarily on stroke development and proper technique. We will begin

with work on Freestyle and backstroke and then move to Breaststroke and Butterfly as the summer progresses. If all things go according to plan we will be working on the fine details (starts, turns, ect.)

🐊 Our last highlight of the 2026 season was our inaugural Developmental Swim Team! 🐊

The first year of us running this program featured 58 participants ranging from ages 4 all the way up to 9! About half were pool members and half were non-members.

Almost 15 of these swimmers went on to pass their swimmers test, and almost 15 came and swam in a dual meet!

These swimmers showed incredible growth not only in their swimming skills, but in confidence and so many other areas. They also practiced at the same time as swim team.

Each swimmer was awarded with a certificate, an alligator toy, and those that swam in a meet got a medal!

The program was ran by our Developmental coaches and swim team coaches. Huge shoutout to our Developmental coaches listed below:

We’d like to share our award winners from our team party on Monday for the 2026 Season!

Silvers MVP: Most points scored at the BCSA Silver meet!

🐊 Lily Wadsworth- 33 points and runner up in 50 free!
🐊 Chris Antosy- 16 points and champ in 50 back’

Newcomer of the year: NEW to summer swim, first summer or season ever swimming!

🐊 TJ Ciferri- 5th and 6th in County in back and free! First season ever swimming
🐊 Kayla Holler- 7th in back and breast in county! First summer swimming season

Most improved: Displayed growth throughout the season AND since 2025’ season!

🐊 Kennedy Genova- first time qualifying for counties, qualified 4 events and placed top 8 and top 16!
🐊 Lukas Bowman- huge time drops and 10x his points at counties in 2025 ➡️ 2026. 5 points ➡️ 54 points including two 2nds and a county 1st!

Alligator award: Showed team spirit, strong work ethic and practice attendance, strong role model for younger swimmers 🏊‍♀️ 🏊‍♂️

Yesterday at our team banquet, we honored our winners of the Sam Cohen award.

Dating back to its first engraving in 1959, the trophy spans names over the last 67 years. It now honors our team’s MVPs at the BCSA County Meet.

This year, 5 more names were etched into the trophy.

Ella Salem was our girls winner this year. She scored 57 points at the County Meet, taking 1st place in two events, and 2nd in her last event!

4 boys tied with 60 points a piece, all triple winners at the meet:

Griffin Salem, Jake Wagner, Garrett McCready and Sullivan Mancuso.

Jake and Garrett are now on the trophy 2 times, and Sullivan has received this award 3 years in a row, going 9/9 in his last 9 counties events. Griffin and Ella both get the award in their first season on the team!

Antietam completes the 3️⃣-peat of the BCSA Swimming and Diving Championship meet with a final score of 2,908! We were also presented with our Atlantic Division Plaque for the 4th year running.

We’ve had 3️⃣ more record fall in the past two weeks!

Breaking the 13-14 100 Breast record was Nate Vernon, the record was from 1998!

Breaking the 13-14 100 Back record was Jasper van der Velde, which was set in 1992!

Breaking the 11-12 50 back record was Jake Wagner, lowering the mark that was set last season.
