After 5 years, Joltin's Gym is shutting it's doors at the current location. Although I have a conditional use permit to have Berks County Insurance here, that does not apply to Joltin's Gym. The neighboring properties have NO objection to what we do here.....but a township resident who doesn't even live in my neighborhood, complained to the Township. He had read about our success in the newspaper and while we have no impact on him whatsoever, he submitted a formal complaint to the township. His name is Karl Schemburg (I have a copy of his complaint).
A personal note to Karl Schemburg....I was doing something good here, something that didn't bother or affect anyone in a negative way, something that I had passion for, something that brought self-esteem and confidence to those that I worked with, something that EVERYONE that stepped through my door appreciated....and had very positive things to say about what we did. Karl... you should start to worry a lot more about yourself and the type of person you are....and less about the good things in this community that have no affect on you. You are nothing more than the township trouble maker and quite honestly....NO ONE appreciates it. Ask around town what people think of your constant complaints about everything....and then look in the mirror and ask yourself why? Rather than take the time to file a complaint, maybe you should have taken the time to stop by and see the positive impact I had on EVERYONE that I worked with.
But while we may be down, we are not knocked out. We are currently looking for commercial space to open a new and improved Joltin's Gym where we can grow and turn young athletes into champions both in and out of the ring!! Getting knocked down is part of boxing.....it is what you do when you get back up that makes a champion.
