Meet Aveline Cloutier!
Aveline is a dynamic 1st Degree Black Belt who continues to train toward her 2nd Degree while also playing softball and flag football!

What an athlete this young lady is!

Explosive takeoff speed, amazing hand-eye coordination, and the confidence and determination to push through resistance are just a few of the skills she develops through martial arts that carry over into her other sports.

But what makes Aveline even more special is her HEART!
She's a great teammate, a cheerleader for those around her, and someone who encourages others to be their best.

Strong. Confident. Determined. And always lifting others up!

Meet Alex George!
A 3rd Degree Black Belt who has trained in martial arts most of his life, Alex grew up balancing both karate and competitive volleyball!
From varsity volleyball to now playing on his college team, Alex is a great example of how these two sports complement each other!

Hand-eye coordination to react in a split second.

Confidence to step up and give his best.

And a HUGE heart for helping others and being a great teammate!

Day 2: Cross Country & Track

Meet Nico!
Nico started running at just 5 years old and began his karate journey at age 10.

Today, he's a 2nd Degree Black Belt at Personal Best Karate and runs for Oliver Ames High School, recently clocking an impressive 16:59 for 3 miles!

What do karate and running have in common?

Endurance — Pushing through when your body gets tired.

Mental toughness — Staying focused when things get difficult.

Confidence — Believing in yourself and your ability to improve.

Discipline — Showing up, putting in the work, and striving for your personal best.

Karate doesn't replace other sports. It helps build the skills and mindset that athletes can carry into everything they do!

Whether it’s learning a new karate technique or executing a play on the football field, the ability to listen process information and put it into action is important!
Karate helps develop these skills.
That’s what we love about martial arts!
Henry is one of our dynamic second-degree black belts. Even when being a student at the Karate school, he watches and learns intently as Master Rappold is teaching self-defense skills. That focus and concentration did him well when he was playing football. Way to go, Henry.

DID YOU KNOW? Master Stef is in the final stages of testing for her 6th Degree Black Belt. Master Camara is also going for his 6th and Master Sikula for his 5th.
