**CANCELLATION OF 2026 RARE RC CAR & BIKE SHOW**
Dear Community,
We at RARE RC understand that this is not the news many in our communities want to see or hear. Many rumors are flying around, and we need to set the record straight.
On January 15, 2026, RARE RC received a letter from the Pacific Events District (PED) advising us that our club would no longer be able to use the end of Riverfront Park that has historically been used for car shows. It was explained that the newly rebranded and revised festival (Tides, Timbers, and Brew Fest) would now be using the entire park, and RARE RC would need to move our Annual Car & Bike Show to a new location or date. We were given three options: a paved parking lot, another park away from the festival, or move the show to the weekend before the festival. Using the street, parking lots, or city parks would all require additional City of Raymond approval and permits. None of these options were viable for the success of the show or the satisfaction of our attendees. We have attempted to have the show on the blacktop previously, and it was not met with great approval. Our attendees come to Raymond each year to be on the grass by the river, for the beautiful location – not to be on the hot pavement. We have always strived to give our attendees the best experience each year, and felt that we could not deliver that this year with being pushed out of Riverfront Park, our usual location.
We notified the PED on Feb 16, 2026, that of the three options offered, none were truly satisfactory, nor would they meet our attendees’ expectations or needs. Each year, we were provided with less space in the park to hold our show, and now we have finally been fully forced out of the area for the festival weekend within the park.
We know this is a great disappointment to many. Maybe things will change in the future; for now, this is where things stand. We sincerely apologize to the citizens and supporters of our Annual Car & Bike Show. We truly have enjoyed the time spent together, and value the support you have given us.
