May 10, 2026 marks the end of an era at Strikers East. Today was the final day our A2 machines will be in operation at our bowling alley after decades of dependable service and countless memories made on the lanes. When we reopen, a new chapter will begin with the installation of GSX machines as we continue building memories for generations to come.
-
’Twas the night before renovation, and all through the house,
The old A-2s stood silent, as still as a mouse.
Their belts had stopped turning, their motors gave no sound,
For the final frame had ended, and quiet settled round.
The pin chasers lingered near the lanes’ back end,
Recalling the countless breakdowns they’d learned to mend.
The kickbacks were dusty, the pit carpets worn,
These ironwork legends had labored since long before dawn.
For decades they thundered through leagues late at night,
Setting pins with mechanical might.
But lined up in crates beyond the setter’s old track,
The gleaming new GSX machines waited out back.
No turret, no shotgun, no rattling sweep,
Just sensors and motors, all silent in sleep.
The A-2s stood proud through their last weary game,
Each scar and oil stain a mark of their name.
Then one by one, beneath fluorescent light,
The mechanics unbolted the old through the night.
As belts struck the concrete and weldments came free,
The sounds of the future echoed softly with glee.
And where the old Brunswick giants once clattered and roared,
New GSX machines soon would stand and be adored.
Then out in the parking lot came a loud hiss—
A forklift delivering the future with bliss.
And the crew heard the foreman call out with delight:
“Happy renovation to all, and smooth installs tonight!”
