ENTRY CONCEPTS

Our Entry Concepts course is coming up! May 30th in Ravenna, Ohio.

In a class room setting, students will be introduced to concepts to defend or exploit common building entry ways. Topics will include lock mechanism identification, bypassing, covert entry techniques, site exploitation, planning considerations, and introduction to lock picking. Students also taking our Unconventional Warfare and Reconnaissance courses will be able to get a deeper dive into topics introduced or discussed in those courses. Additionally, students will learn how to build out their own entry kits with commercial and improvised equipment. Training aids and required tools will be loaned during the course. Course restricted to current law enforcement, MTG members, firefighters, or other security professionals.

11APR2026 Land Navigation/Patrolling FTX

Land navigation is the discipline of following a route through unfamiliar terrain on foot or by vehicle, using tools like maps, compasses, and GPS devices. It involves understanding terrain features, determining direction, and measuring distance to ensure safe and efficient movement in outdoor or remote environments. This is an invaluable skill that is perishable and needs to be regularly trained.

Our Land Nav/Patrolling exercise on 11APR2026. Students were taught and got to practice, how to read a map, what the symbols on maps mean, read contour lines, grid lines, plotting points on a map, determining the distance between 2 points, how to use a compass, get an azimuth and back azimuth, and sonic more. Then got to go in the field and put all of that into practice by pre planning routes and the traversing through the woods to get to each point that they plotted on a map before stepping off.

04APR2026 Pistol Intermediate

Our Pistol Intermediate class last Saturday went smoothly and we couldn’t have asked for a better group of students willing to learn and push themselves beyond failure in order to grow. Failing in training is critical to both growing as a shooter and knowing your capabilities in a real world situation.

Our Carbine Intermediate course is coming up quick. April 25th 2026, we hope to see you there!

The basic handgun is the foundation of our three-course handgun training series, and is the crawl phase of “crawl-walk-run”, or the learn phase of MTG’s “learn-understand-push”. It is designed to give shooters the understanding of how their handgun functions and how to hone the basics in order to progress to more advanced handgun courses. This course focuses on developing confidence, consistency, and practical skills with your firearm.

Students will start with a morning classroom session and dryfire to reduce live fire safety risks and ensure fundamentals are being understood and applied in a controlled, low stress environment. Students will then conduct a series of live fire drills that will enable them to reinforce the core skills necessary to advance to the intermediate handgun course.

Prerequisites:
None. This course is open to all experience levels but is specifically geared toward new or inexperienced pistol shooters.
