We are incredibly grateful to receive the Albany County Legislature Summer Grant in the amount of $4,690 for new round pen gates for 1841 Cavalry.

One of the greatest needs on our farm is replacing aging fencing and infrastructure. While that work will come in time, these round pens are an important step forward. They will allow us to safely host more equine-assisted classes and programs for veterans and others in our community.

At 1841 Cavalry, our mission is to facilitate healing, growth, and human connection through equine-assisted programming and the transformative relationship between horses and people.

Thank you to the Albany County Legislature for believing in our mission and investing in the work we are doing. We are honored by this award and look forward to continuing to serve our community, one horse and one life at a time. ❤️🐴

Homeward Bound Adirondacks is proud to partner with 1841 Calvary Ranch to offer a unique Veterans Equine Program designed specifically for veterans. This hands-on program focuses on building trust, confidence, communication, and personal growth through meaningful interactions with horses.

Every day, we are reminded what an honor it is to serve those who have served our country.

To our veterans, thank you for your courage, your sacrifice, and your service. We are grateful for each of you and the time we get to spend together through our equine-assisted programs.

We are already looking forward to our next Veterans Program and another day of connection, healing, and time with these incredible horses. Until then, thank you for allowing us to be a small part of your journey.

We had such a beautiful day today with our Veterans Program in partnership with Homeward Bound Adirondacks. Horses truly bring healing, wellness, and connection in a way that is hard to put into words. Watching veterans build trust, confidence, and meaningful connections with these incredible animals has been nothing short of inspiring.

A special thank you to Adam Halloran, our instructor, for sharing your knowledge, guidance, and passion with our veterans. Your support helps make these experiences so meaningful.

Sunny and Phoenix have become true rock stars of the program. It’s amazing to think that just one year ago they were part of a rescue situation, malnourished, dehydrated, and living in very difficult conditions. Today, they are healthy, thriving, and helping others heal.

Their transformation is a powerful reminder of what care, compassion, and second chances can do. We are so grateful to everyone who joined us today and to the veterans who continue to trust us, our horses, and this process. The healing goes both ways. ❤️🐴🇺🇸

A heartfelt thank you to everyone who came out and spent the day with us. Thank you to our incredible horses for their patience, kindness, and ability to connect with people in such meaningful ways. Most importantly, thank you to our heroes, our veterans, for your service, sacrifice, and for allowing us to share this journey with you.

Join us today, Monday, June 15, and again on Friday, June 19, from 12:00 PM to 2:00 PM at 1841 Cavalry, 880 Bridge St, Ravena NY.

This is a free program for all veterans, offering an opportunity to spend time with horses, connect with fellow veterans, enjoy the outdoors, and experience the benefits of equine-assisted activities in a welcoming and supportive environment.

No horse experience is necessary. All veterans are welcome.

☀️ It was a hot one today, but what a beautiful day at 1841 Cavalry!

A huge thank you to all of the veterans who came out and participated in today’s program. We are grateful to be able to spend time together, connect with nature, and experience the healing power of horses.

Special thanks to Adam Halloran and Homeward Bound Adirondacks for partnering with us and helping make the day such a success.

And of course, a very special thank you to Phoenix and Sunny, our two equine therapists of the day, who did an amazing job and touched the hearts of everyone they met. ❤️🐴
