First match of 2026 — Happy New Year, everyone!
Wishing you all health and happiness, plenty of trigger time, tons of fun, and a few V-bulls along the way.

We had a great turnout with quite a few new faces on the firing line, plus another handful of folks stopping by just to see what this is all about. They received lots of encouragement from everyone, and we hope to see them back soon giving it a real shot.

David and Kim Porter even flew in just for this one match and to spend the day visiting friends — I’d say that was time and travel well spent. I also did a little recruiting and found us a new sling shooter. He’s got some growing to do, but he seems dead serious about it.

The Southwest National Championship is approaching fast, and we’re really looking forward to seeing everyone there. Until then, enjoy the pictures!

Arizona Palma Championship 2025 — our favorite, and soooooo much fun year after year!
And yet, we all went home a little sad… sad knowing we wouldn’t get to do it all again the next day. But that’s life — and honestly, that’s what makes these gatherings so special.

Three days of absolutely amazing weather, great matches, tons of laughs, a few personal bests, and a few “dang!” shots that kept us humble. Everything we love about this sport packed into one incredible long weekend.

And here’s something I never thought I’d live to see: the Arizona Palma Championship run on electronic targets. Yep — the future has finally caught up with us! The matches ran incredibly efficiently, and we were wrapping up just after 11 a.m. each day. Pretty early for us… and since we were nowhere near done solving the world’s problems, we hung around after shooting just to enjoy each other’s company.

We even managed to catch a dozen crossfires, and every shot fired was accounted for — something I’ve never seen at any other match run on electronic targets anywhere in the country or abroad. Huge thanks to our dedicated crew for keeping their eyes open and communication flowing.

For next year, we’re talking about adding a 20-shot 1000-yard match after each Palma day — giving us a 60-shot 1000-yard aggregate. It sounds like a blast, and if it happens, you know it’s going to make an already amazing weekend even better.

As always, the pictures are what really bring it all to life — so enjoy! And if you look closely, you might even spot a little hint of Christmas vibes sneaking in.

Already counting down to 2026!

Hello friends! It’s been a while, and in the meantime I’ve enjoyed following many of you on social media—from the Australia , South African, Great Britain, Canadian teams and many other clubs around the world that graciously share their events. After a long and busy summer of traveling and shooting across the USA, Canada, and Europe, we’ve been back home and at it again.

The past few months have been filled with our summer league matches and regular practices, but tomorrow we officially kick off our season with the Arizona State Long Range Championship, followed by my favorite—the Arizona State Palma Championship—and, as always, the much-anticipated Southwest Nationals Championship in February.

Today’s practice showed everyone’s enthusiasm and excitement for the upcoming events. With about 50+ shooters and weather you could only dream of, it was great to meet new competitors and reconnect with many others who took a break over the summer, as well as those who traveled long distances to be here. The winds were very kind to us, giving many a perfect opportunity to tune their rifles and verify their zeros.

Good luck to all—here’s to a great matches and plenty of V-bulls for everyone!

Enjoy a few pictures and a video from today’s practice.

Spirit of America – US National Fullbore Championship 2025

Hello friends,

It’s been a while since we’ve shared an update on this page. Unfortunately, I wasn’t able to put together a proper report from the great matches held in Canada last month—but it may not be too late to share a recap soon.

Right now, though, we’re at one of my favorite ranges in the entire world: the NRA Whittington Center in Raton, New Mexico. If you’ve never had the chance to shoot or even just visit here, you truly owe it to yourself to make the trip. Whether it’s for competitive shooting or any of the many outdoor activities offered, this place is something special.

This year is particularly unique—reports say it’s the most rain the area has seen in 20 years, and it’s certainly the greenest I’ve ever witnessed in the 17 years I’ve been coming here.

Being in the “middle of nowhere,” yet still accessible with two airports only a few hours’ drive away, this match/range doesn’t draw as many competitors as it deserves. Part of the reason is timing—it comes at the end of the shooting season, when many major national and international events have already absorbed much of our free time (and the goodwill of our loved ones).

Nevertheless, those who do make the trip get to enjoy its beauty while often facing challenging conditions this range is famous for. Rain is rarely an issue, and the temperatures are usually very pleasant—ranging from the 50s in the morning to the mid-70s during the day. In many ways, it’s a paradise; yet the ever-shifting winds and vast open spaces make this one of the most fascinating ranges in the world, where the true opponent isn’t the other competitors—it’s the range itself, demanding focus, patience, and respect at every turn.

And yet, despite these challenges, there’s a joy in every moment—the camaraderie among competitors, the thrill of nailing a difficult shot, and the simple awe of being in such a breathtaking environment. It’s a place where the struggle and the beauty exist side by side, creating memories that last far beyond the match itself.

156th Bisley Imperial Meeting – Final Thoughts

By now, most of us are back home—swapping stories, settling into routine, unpacking gear still carrying the scent of Bisley’s damp winds and historic soil. But my mind keeps drifting back to the last 12 days—days filled with grit, camaraderie, triumph, and heartbreak. I find myself reliving each moment, feeling not just my own emotions but imagining the weight, the pride, the disappointment, and the joy that others must have carried. What we experienced wasn’t just a competition—it was a chapter in history, written together, one shot at a time.

For some, it was a first-time experience; for others, they’ve lost count of how many times they’ve walked these ranges. Some made history in a big way. Some left heartbroken. Others were simply happy to be part of it all. But one thing is certain: we’ll all remember this meeting.

Great dinner with friends and the start of a new tradition with Team Canada.
Despite a rainy morning, we kicked off the Kings' first stage qualifier with a solid shoot.
Grateful for the energy, the effort—and the team pictures to mark the moment.
