"How can you not be romantic about baseball?"

My son's team played tonight at a field a man made in his own yard, Harley Field. I got a chance to speak with him and his wife and talk about our fields, and they are extremely nice people. He even told me a story of a man who stopped at random driving by, whose father was on the Brooklyn Dodgers and played with Jackie Robinson!

It was a "special" game for the boys too, and just a great atmosphere. The field is amazing! I hope we get to play here again - this is what it's all about!

How amazing is this? A legit field (actually better than most in WNY honestly) a man built in his yard in Lockport, Harley Field. My son's team is playing here next week - really excited to see it in person!

We had my fall ball team over for practice on Friday night, followed by watching The Sandlot on the field. The next morning they won in dramatic fashion, their second walk off in 3 games to go 5-0! We're making memories and shooting for a perfect 6-0 season this Saturday!

Hi, my name is Russ, and I built a baseball field in our backyard. Welcome to the page!

I wanted to create a space for my kids, as well as the neighborhood kids to have where they could just hop on their bikes, round everyone up, and go play. No "playdates", just the neighborhood kids getting together, having fun, and creating memories playing baseball - like the kids in The Sandlot movie.

Here is an album of the construction. It was a lot of work, but the field is getting a lot of use, which is exactly what I hoped for!
