After five incredible seasons, itโs with mixed emotions that we announce that B-52 Hangar MX will not be reopening.
As some of you may have heard, the Village of Rantoul has sold the building, bringing our time at the hangar to an end.
We want to sincerely thank every rider, family, spectator, sponsor, volunteer, and staff member who supported us over the past five seasons. From weekend practices to special events, weโve made countless memories and built friendships that weโll always cherish. None of it would have been possible without this amazing motocross community.
Weโd also like to extend a special thank you to the Village of Rantoul for taking a chance on what was, at the time, a pretty wild idea. Their willingness to work with us and their support throughout the years gave us the opportunity to create something truly unique, and weโre incredibly grateful for that partnership.
While weโre sad to see this chapter close, weโre thankful for everyone who helped make B-52 Hangar MX what it became. The memories, friendships, and experiences will stay with us for years to come.
Although the hangar is closing, weโre not done with motocross. Weโre excited about whatโs ahead and have plans to continue growing the sport by hosting more events at the Champaign County Fairgrounds. Our vision includes expanding to additional night races and weekend events, taking advantage of the fairgroundsโ excellent facilities, including 70 RV campsites with hookups, to create an even better experience for racers and their families.
Our annual Champaign County Fair Motocross race is also returning this yearโbut with a new night! Instead of Thursday, weโll be racing on Friday night, July 31st.
Weโll be sharing all the race details in our next post, and we canโt wait to see everyone at the track again. Thank you all for being part of the B-52 Hangar MX family.
