In Loving Memory of Dragon
It is with heavy hearts that we share the passing of Dragon, a beloved member of the Autumn's Gate family.
Dragon came to us five years ago as an auction rescue in poor condition. Through dedicated care, patience, and love, he regained his health and found a place where he belonged. Like many horses with a difficult past, Dragon faced challenges both on the ground and under saddle, but his story became one of resilience, trust, and transformation.
For the past two years, Dragon was under the care of our instructor, Julia. Through her unwavering commitment, kindness, and skill, she helped Dragon become the incredible partner we always knew he could be. The bond they shared was truly special and was evident to everyone who knew them.
Over the weekend, Dragon was involved in a tragic and unforeseeable accident. Despite appropriate safety measures and experienced care, he suffered a fatal injury and passed instantly. He was not alone, he did not suffer, and he was with Julia, who loved him deeply, in his final moments.
While our hearts ache at this loss, we take comfort in knowing that Dragon's life was filled with love, purpose, and friendship. He touched the lives of many riders, students, staff, and visitors, and his memory will remain a part of Autumn's Gate for years to come.
We ask our community to keep Julia in your thoughts and prayers as she grieves the loss of her best friend and partner.
Run free, Dragon. You were loved beyond measure and will be greatly missed.
