We had a fun night at Ransomville on Tuesday with the DIRTcar series race! We timed 8th in our group but were less than .5 away from the fastest in our group. We started 8th, got caught up in a jingle early on and would finish 9th. That put us 8th for the B-Main where we drove up to a 4th and missed the show by 1 spot. With the large count and many other drivers racing the series we weren’t a favorite for the provisional spots and that would be our night behind the wheel. Our night is up on our YouTube channel. We will be back at Ransomville for Championship night September 4th

DIRTcar Sportsman Series Ransomville Speedway 24M Incar video

Last week we had Dustin Gorhan jump into the hot seat, and he definitely made the most of it! Starting from out at the pond, Dustin worked his way forward and brought home a Top 10 after getting caught up in a little get together along the way.

Tonight, Dustin is back in the 24M and we’re excited to see what he can do with another night behind the wheel!

Gearing and steering seem to be an issue.

We got to the track early last night and were able to hang out with the Hardison crew on their race night. We still had some last minute work to finish up, so we missed hot laps while getting ready for our heat race.

We finished 6th in the heat, which lined us up 12th for the feature. A few laps in, the car developed a wicked vibration coming off Turn 2. Rather than risk tearing something up, the driver shut it down right away and got out of the groove. Turns out the culprit was our 4 blade fan deciding it wanted its own weight reduction program and turning itself into a 3 blade fan. Not exactly the kind of diet we were looking for, but we’re thankful it wasn’t one of the $1,000+ driveline parts letting go.

The car is still not handling the way it should, so this week we’re pulling the steering box to have it freshened up while we go through the rest of the steering and front end geometry. We’re determined to find what’s been holding us back.

A huge thank you to Uncle Jeff for thrashing on the car all week while the driver’s daily driver has the shop tied up. We couldn’t keep this thing on the track without family willing to put in the hours.

And this is how our night ended. 4 blade fan became a 3 blade fan. It felt like something in the driveline was letting go so we shut her down quick and got out of the way.
