It’s Oceanview’s anniversary- we opened our doors on this day in 2020! And boy, did we not realize what the future would hold. Fast forward to today, and I am so thrilled with all that we have accomplished. We have passionate students, amazing horses, and fabulous instructors- I am so honored to have all of you in my life.

And of course, like every year, I celebrate the horse that started this all 6 years ago- Mocha. This sweet girl is loving her retirement and her role as boss mare of our (not so) little Oceanview herd. I’m immensely grateful for all she has given to us all.

Today marked Magnolia’s last gymkhana- this amazing girl is taking a step down and retiring from competition at age 21. Don’t worry- she’ll still be giving lessons and going on the trail! We are all so incredibly proud of Maggie and her three incredible gymkhana girls- Emma, Gabby, and Ella. The four of them have accomplished so much and won countless ribbons the past few years. For those that don’t know, Magnolia’s journey with us started several years ago when we adopted her from as sweet and slow western pleasure horse named Velvet that needed a soft landing and some TLC. To our surprise, we discovered that she loved barrels and poles and GOING FAST! We are so proud of this awesome horse and are happy to see Magnolia explore life in the slow(er) lane. Good work girls!!!

Cassie is 27 years old today! She doesn’t act a day over 5. Happy birthday Cassie!!!

Beautiful Mocha is 23 today- we all love this horse who was the foundation of our program when we first started out. She means so much to Oceanview🩷🩷

It is with an absolutely broken heart that we have to announce that Baby died this evening, surrounded by all of our trainers. Baby was one of a kind- sassy and sweet all at once. She taught countless riders to love trail rides and to be assertive. Baby loved going on the trail, her bucket, putting other horses in their place, and being as messy as possible. She is already greatly missed by us all and by her loving sister Mocha. She was one awesome horse and I love her very much. 🩷

We’re still giving lessons- come join us!

We are still open and operating!

We've had a lot of concern from our community following this weekend's power shutoff. Please know that we have not been asked to evacuate and there is no imminent threat to us or our horses. While we did lose power, we are getting solar power installed as we speak. We are all ok, and hope to see you at the barn soon!
