Fixing your head position without changing your wrists will make you hit it further behind the ball - not better.

The lunge and the cast are connected. You have to solve both at the same time.

✅ Keep the head back - this stops the upper body from racing ahead and robbing you of your angle
✅ Maintain the wrist angles into impact - this preserves the lag that creates a clean, descending strike
✅ Let the elbow reach the lead hip before the hands release - this sequences the body correctly so the club arrives last, not first

Most golfers fix one piece and wonder why nothing changes. It is because these three things only work together.

📩 Send this to your playing partner who keeps hitting it fat even though they think they have fixed their swing.

Same player. Same setup. Different impact.

3D capture of a PGA Tour average player hitting an iron and a driver. Here’s the spine angle through the swing:

🔹 Setup: ~93° with both clubs
🔹 Top of backswing: ~90° with both, so the posture holds through the turn
🔹 Impact: 101° with the iron, 108° with the driver

The setup and the backswing are identical. The difference shows up in the downswing, where the driver gets about 7° more spine tilt away from the target at impact. That helps the club approach on the upward path you want with a driver, while the iron stays steeper.

Most amateurs lose their posture early and stand up through the downswing. Tour players build the same foundation for every club, then let the tilt develop as the body rotates.

Pulling the ball left is rarely a swing path problem. It’s a backswing problem that starts before you even get to the top.

When the arms lift instead of the chest turning, you land in a laid-off position and the pull is almost guaranteed from there.

Here’s what the backswing should actually look like:

✅ Chest and arms move together from the start - this keeps the club on plane instead of drifting inside immediately
✅ At left arm parallel, the right arm folds slightly but stays above the left - this maintains width and prevents the club from collapsing behind you
✅ Finish the backswing with chest rotation, not arm lift - this is what creates the depth that lets you swing from the inside

📩 Send this to your playing partner who keeps pulling drives into the left rough.

Standing too upright at address is quietly wrecking your contact. If you’re not bending forward enough from the hips, you’ll fight your swing all day.

Two easy checks:
→ Bend from the waist until your fingertips reach the top of your knees
→ Or lay a club down your chest — bend forward until the butt of the club points just behind your heels

Fix your setup, fix your strikes. 🎯

Most golfers freeze their wrist angles from setup all the way to the top - and that’s where the damage is done.

Your lead wrist starts with a little cupping and some radial deviation at address. That’s fine. The problem is when nothing changes from there.

✅ Gradually increase the radial as the club moves back - this keeps the clubface in a neutral, manageable position throughout the swing.
✅ Move toward flexion in the lead wrist by the top - this prevents the cupping that opens the face and leads to those weak, inconsistent strikes.

Small, progressive changes. Not a sudden flip at the top.

📩 Send this to your playing partner who always seems to lose the clubface halfway back.

If you’re still on your back foot through impact, your finish is fighting you before you even get there.

The fix isn’t trying to lift your trail foot. It’s a sequence:

✅ Shift your weight into your lead foot first - this loads the ground so you have something to push from
✅ Push up out of the ground - this drives the rotation and creates the power you’ve been leaving behind
✅ Let the trail foot get pulled off naturally - if you’re forcing it, the sequence is wrong

When the order is right, the finish takes care of itself.

If your chest feels stuck in the backswing, your arms are almost certainly the reason.

Most golfers pull the left arm across the chest trying to create a big turn. It does the opposite. That arm crashing into your chest is what’s blocking the rotation in the first place.

✅ Let the arms work up over the right shoulder - this keeps the left arm from pressing into the chest so the torso can turn freely
✅ Think up, not around - swinging across creates the restriction, swinging up removes it
✅ Once the arms have room, the chest follows naturally - you stop fighting your own body

📩 Send this to your playing partner who always says they can’t get a full shoulder turn.

Most golfers think their swing falls apart at impact. It actually starts going wrong in the first foot of the takeaway.

When the club pulls too far inside, everything behind it is a compensation.

This simple drill fixes it at the source:

✅ Make the hang loose sign with your trail hand - it naturally positions your fingers to create the connection point you need
✅ Thumb on your sternum, pinky on the inside of your lead elbow - this locks in the relationship between your arm and torso
✅ Turn back whilst maintaining that distance - the club stays on plane without you having to think about the club at all

One drill. No complicated positions. Just a feeling that keeps the takeaway honest.
