Just getting home from a softball trip to hear about the passing of a dear friend.
Chuck was a huge part of helping me get to the place where I am today. He believed in me and allowed me the opportunity to take lessons to another level. The original plan was for me to work out of his facility while I helped coach his 18u American Pastime team. Turned out we coached until Erica graduated high school then put a few Women’s Open teams together for tournaments in Canada and Europe. He couldn’t get softball out of his veins. So he decided to get back into high school coaching, which I was able to help and be a part of. What went from maybe two years of helping coach with him, turned into 12 years of making memories. He took me to many hockey games, one in particular was glass seats to see the Ducks play during the year the Ducks won the Stanley Cup. He also took me to the final home game when the Angels won the World Series.
Though many may not have understood his personality, deep down inside was a man who genuinely cared about the girls and would do whatever he needed to provide the support for the girls. He loved the game and the girls. Our joke was always he scratches my back and I’ll find someone to scratch his. 🤣
Chuck I am forever thankful, grateful and blessed to have known you. You helped me grow and mature. You helped me through some of my toughest times. Thank you for allowing me to give back. Thank you for allowing me to pay it forward to all the young women over all these years.
I love you and will be deeply missed. Love always, the Mexican 🤗 😘 😢
Michelle Patrick Erica Liam and the entire Zerkle Clan, thank you for sharing so many memories. I love all of you and miss all of you. My thoughts and prayers are with all of you during this difficult time.
