Every time Ben walked into the dojo, he stopped in front of the trophy case.
Championship trophies.
Gold medals.
Photos of Black Belts.
He imagined seeing his own picture there one day.
After class, he pointed to the biggest trophy on the top shelf.
"๐๐ผ ๐๐ผ๐ ๐๐ต๐ถ๐ป๐ธ ๐'๐น๐น ๐ฒ๐๐ฒ๐ฟ ๐๐ถ๐ป ๐๐ผ๐บ๐ฒ๐๐ต๐ถ๐ป๐ด ๐น๐ถ๐ธ๐ฒ ๐๐ต๐ฎ๐?"
His instructor smiled.
"๐ ๐ฎ๐๐ฏ๐ฒ."
Ben grinned.
"๐ง๐ต๐ฎ๐'๐ ๐บ๐ ๐ด๐ผ๐ฎ๐น. ๐ ๐๐ฎ๐ป๐ ๐ฒ๐๐ฒ๐ฟ๐๐ผ๐ป๐ฒ ๐๐ผ ๐ธ๐ป๐ผ๐ ๐ ๐๐ฎ๐ ๐ผ๐ป๐ฒ ๐ผ๐ณ ๐๐ต๐ฒ ๐ฏ๐ฒ๐๐."
Instead of answering, his instructor asked Ben to help put away the kicking shields.
As they worked, Ben noticed something.
A younger student was struggling to tie his belt.
Without being asked, one of the older Black Belts walked over, knelt beside him, and patiently helped.
After class, that same Black Belt stayed behind to straighten the mats while everyone else headed home.
The instructor quietly said,
"๐๐ฒ'๐ ๐ผ๐ป๐ฒ ๐ผ๐ณ ๐ผ๐๐ฟ ๐ณ๐ถ๐ป๐ฒ๐๐ ๐๐๐๐ฑ๐ฒ๐ป๐๐."
Ben looked surprised.
"๐๐ฒ๐ฐ๐ฎ๐๐๐ฒ ๐ต๐ฒ ๐๐ถ๐ป๐ ๐๐ผ๐๐ฟ๐ป๐ฎ๐บ๐ฒ๐ป๐๐?"
The instructor shook his head.
"๐๐ฒ'๐ ๐๐ผ๐ป ๐ฎ ๐ณ๐ฒ๐... ๐ฏ๐๐ ๐๐ต๐ฎ๐'๐ ๐ป๐ผ๐ ๐๐ต๐."
He pointed toward the trophy case.

Ben looked back at the trophies.
For the first time...
They didn't seem like the most important thing in the room.
