Green hedge is one of my favorite woods. The coloring is different in every piece from dark to light green.

Headed out the door! Enjoyed the challenge of this one as the customer wanted a full wrap around checkered insert. Made from Pecan Burl and Cocobolo.

Finally finished this Reelfoot style metal reed up for a good friend. Made from Redwood Burl with an African Blackwood insert. Added some flat top checkering for an old school feel.

Made from faux Ivory with a total of 10 checkered panels. It features both 16 lpi skip line checkering and 24 lpi normal checkered areas.

And just like that my turkey season is over. This hunt was one I won’t forget anytime soon as we played quite a bit of cat and mouse for most of the day.
Always a blessing to bag a bird but it’s a long wait till next year. Good luck to everyone else still in the woods! Take it in and enjoy every moment.

Very happy with the results as I was able to take 2nd place in the decorative carved category. There is just so much talent and their skills blow me away. Lots of work still to do to come close to their level but that’s the fun part.
