Pilates + strength training belong in the same conversation!
If you’re lifting, Pilates can help you get even more out of the work you’re already doing in the gym. Three of our biggest reasons:
Strength through your full range of motion. Pilates trains control and strength throughout the range available at your joints - not just the portion you’re loading during a specific lift.
Core strength that transfers. Core work isn’t just abs. Pilates teaches you how to create stability, manage load, and maintain control while your arms and legs are moving - which matters when the weight gets heavier.
Strength from the ground up. Feet, ankles, hips, shoulders, spine…the smaller stabilizing muscles matter, too. Building strength and control throughout the entire system gives you a stronger foundation for your bigger lifts.
Throughout September, we’re doing a deeper dive into each of these reasons and breaking down exactly how Pilates can complement your strength training.
You don’t have to choose Pilates or lifting. There’s a pretty strong case for doing both!
