Sunday March 24th we held the first ever Team Premier Tryouts. It was a long day of grueling physical and mental hurtles to jump through.

We managed to find 9 new players to join Team Premier based on the participants results, energy they brought to the course and the attitude they attacked each challenge with.

Be on the lookout for each of these awesome players to take over their divisions in 2024!!

tryouts are right around the corner, timed conveniently between big tournaments in this region of North Carolina.

If you are looking to boost your game to the next level with this is the perfect opportunity to get closer to the action!

Totally free besides your disc golf scene fee you will have an opportunity to compete with all of the fellow competitors you typically play against in your local tournaments for a spot on .

Team premier is made up of the top Pro and AM players in the wake county area plus a few talented out of town players. Perks of making the team include

Tryouts will be held from 2pm-5pm immediately following the Sunday doubles. Come out and play the doubles to get a nice warm up before tryouts.

Information for the tryouts is on discgolfscene.com, after the tryouts we will be hosting a social hour plus a clinic taught by on how to improve your backhand efficiency for your disc golf game. This clinic will help you understand how to develop the effortless distance and disc manipulation that has been alluding you!

Get excited for your opportunity to be a part of !!

This is a team lead by none other than himself. Last year Philip took his team to new levels, there was an average rating increase of 25 points across the board. This is only one of many benefits players receive.

Our goal is to reach and teach as many players as possible . By joining the team you would be helping our cause while benefitting greatly from all the team interactions, player building moments and awesome coaching from Philip.

🏆here is a little preview from Aaron’s lesson🏆

Aaron is an excellent athlete, he trains by lifting weights, eating right and generally having good habits off the course. This being said Aaron as seemed to seriously lack the power he wanted to be throwing with. Inevitably he ended up right where he belonged .

This was Aaron’s 4th lesson and you can tell by his thoughts and reactions that the more he learns the more he realizes he didn’t know. There are so many disc golfers that have been mislead by the YouTube learning. They really do think they know what you should feel, see and throw like. Unfortunately their results don’t match the material in terms of distance, accuracy or athleticism.

The beauty of what is doing with is he has taken his 16 years of experience in disc golf and combined it with his experience in his past sports history, deep understanding for Physical therapy, professional disc golf career of 11 years and the well over 2000 lessons he’s taught.

We have the final recap for Team Premier from 2023!

we remember when we first met you, you had been playing for a few weeks and you could already throw as far if not further then a lot of the guys you were playing with. You have such a natural talent at this game and your laid back personality makes the perfect storm for disc golf!! Super proud of you for winning 3 out the 10 FPO events you played in. We are also proud of that rating jump, we know that this year we are going to work closer together and get you into the 900’s in 2024!

Walter Watson, where do we start with you. You are one of the brightest “kids” we know. has taken you under his wing like a brother and has enjoyed every last minute of making you one of his protégés. Your bubbly personality and good nature is one your best attributes on the course. We expect nothing but great things from you, in your disc golf game and with the business you have created. Yes that’s right walter is 15 and owns a business!! We want to congratulate you on getting to the podium 5 times this past year, now 2024 is the year we learn how to close it out and get those wins!!

the man behind all of the amazing logos you see used my . Chris has been with premier since before day one back when was teaching without his company name. We are very proud of all you were able to accomplish this year with how busy you are in your personal life. You are always at team practice and you are super active on our team discord. Not to mention you had quite the year picking up your first B and C tier wins this year. Let’s not forget you had a rating bump of 26 points!! You are a stud Chris!!

you have had a hell of a year on and off the disc golf course. You stayed resilient no matter the stress, hardships or task. You were able to play at some huge events this year all while running out of Cary NC. You played a staggering 57 events this year and took home the win 7 times. You stay busy and win on and off the disc golf course. We are proud to have you on the team!!

Legendary advice from a legendary player!!

Carlton Howard is responsible for so many incredible things we have in disc golf today along with some of the first courses ever established in North Carolina.

Carlton is a Hall of Famer and a veteran in disc golf since the 1970’s, yet he was still able to gain some expert advice from coach . Such as new course strategies, form and technique or new ways to communicate with players about their games.

and Carlton both learned that there was a wealth of knowledge from both parties to be learned from one another. Growing together and building the sport together is exactly what Philip and Carlton plan to keep pursing in 2024.
