P.S we’ve retired, unfortunately our body’s and skill set were not up to standard so a group decision was made for all of us to step away from the game we all love. But on a positive note, our star player James Watson has taken up a roll as Pitbulls stage double so we wish him all the best. Wizards out 👏🏻

Here at the Wizards HQ, we are wishing our coach of the century Freddy Anderson all the best with his recovery after a gruelling surgery today. As you all know the wizards are on a HEATER at the moment and Freddy took his celebrations to the extreme where he was involved in a marathon 14 day bender..obviously one hell of an effort but also has its consequences. We all cant wait to see you back at court side Freddy "Patches" Anderson.

Before we start with last weeks match summary, the wizards would like to congratulate the following members for earning their cap by participating in their 5th game for the Wizards:

Coach of the year Freddy
Theo A.K.A The Team
Mid-range Michael
Shaqtin a fool Schultzy
Might miss every shot McClure.

The boys really searching for their first win were very off for the first few minutes (fortunately so were the other team). As usual Theo came out fiery ending up with 30 points, quite literally putting the team on his back. Davo actually forgot how to miss, absolutely nailing the pull-up jumper which is now copyrighted and no other player is legally allowed to even think about attempting one. Leo clearly put in some serious work in Hawaii as he drained 14 points in the second half alone to keep the lead strong. The arena erupted as the full time buzzer went, the boys securing a 17 point win - the first of the season!

Honourable mention - James Watson who hit his first three pointer and is now off the n**e run.

Now the real reason behind this late post is due to the celebrations that went on afterwards. The bender of all benders, Leo still is yet to find a shirt after going topless for 6 days straight, Freddy needing surgery in the coming weeks and the team actually losing Ken (please return him if you find him).

Unfortunately due to terrible budgeting decisions (Blake blowing the budget on a new cricket bat, lord knows why he needs one as he has a top score of 7) the rooftop bus parade is off the cards. The lads will instead be catching the orbiter from outside Eastgate mall at 12:30 this Saturday. The bus will stop at every major bus stop for autographs and photo sessions with the team - please be patient as we are expecting numbers well into the tens.

The Wizards of Staveley would like to apologise for the delay of a match report. With numerous offers flooding our inbox for large sponsorship deals, there has been minimal time to analyse yet another phenomenal performance.

The game started exactly like England’s World Cup opener, with a hiss and a roar scoring multiple times and very quickly. Unfortunately the game ended much like England’s tournament, with basketball not coming home to rest.

Multiple disappearances, some explained and some not, meant that we had to outsource and bring in new blood for the heated contest. This brought about quite possibly the teams best signing. Main man Milne secured a lucrative 10 day contract meaning he can continue to lace up the boots a few more times in one of the greatest careers in modern day basketball. With a vertical so high that he can actually clear a gaggle of women that can often be seen chasing him, he sure was an athletic beast on the boards.

The final score was yet again not favourable and the lads are still desperately searching for a number other than 0 in the win column.

A big thank you for tuning in to the live stream last week especially you Ken’s mum, bringing the total viewers to 3 on the night.

Favourate Celebration: Tearing off his shirt aggressively revealing his monstrosity of a chest while giving it the angry gorilla.

Fun Fact: After his debut basketball game back in 1985, the veteran actually witnessed the birth of J.R Smith in which he generously gave him some hot tips at his very young age which has made him the baller he is today.

We welcome a new member into the side for tomorrow nights matchup as Michael has sustained a minor self esteem injury. Lets hope the team can comeback from the schooling that was provided to them last week.

03/07/2018 - The date the wizards were schooled. After such a heavy pre season training schedule, the lads took a week of training to feel fresh for the game. They felt fresh for all of 15 seconds, this was the point in which the second uncontested 3 pointer was drained.

With Blocka Coburn still on the n**e run as he has not hit a 3 for the season, the three drought was definitely not going to be broken in this game. The game ended up looking a lot like what the boys are used to.... a cricket score.

Leo J.R Carter who was watching the Facebook live feed from Hawaii swiftly reported the stream and it was taken down as the abuse was against their terms and conditions.

Fun Fact: Rumour has it that he was actually Yao Mings Siamese twin, a small growth on Yao's leg cut off and revitalised into the 3 point, ankle nibbler masterpiece named Kenneth.

Wish Ken and the rest of the Wizards the best of luck for there match tomorrow which is a must win for the mental wellbeing of the squad.

Fresh off their first ever defeat, the boys were looking to come back fighting to get out of unfamiliar territory and what a fightback it was. Davo set the the tone for the game bending it like Beckham (Kyrie) and laying up from the most ridiculous angle. After being named Kia NBA MVP earlier in the day, Theo put on an absolute clinic by stuffing the stat sheet.

With the game all tied up at the half, it felt like Donald Trump meeting Kim Jong Un - it really could’ve gone either way. The second half carried on exactly like the first, going back and forth like Trent Boult facing up against a pace attack. The game eventually going into overtime after Blocka Coburn missed the buzzer be**er in regular time by a fair few feet, making the ref question as to whether it was a pass or shot. It was absolute heartbreak at the end of OT as the crew faced their second consecutive loss going down by 2 points

Special mention to Ken “1/4 Yao Ming” McClure for chalking up the only 3 pointer of the night.

Fun fact: There has been speculation for years about the origin of the J.R in his name. Some state that it’s his love of Hennessy whereas others think that it’s his ability to brick a shot like no other. We have exclusive inside knowledge that it’s actually because he will use any excuse to take his top off whenever and wherever he is.

With the very first game of the season underway, the boys came out of the blocks like a 3 legged horse. Fortunately they soon found their stride by decorating the three point line.

If you thought Blake Coburn’s bowling action was different, wait until you see him shoot a basketball - if you can call it that. Panicking like a Pukeko on a highway when he was under the rim, it was definitely a great watch.

With the odds stacked heavily against them, vsing what we can only imagine is the form side in the country, the boys managed to pull away in the wrong direction but still racked up 60 points.
