Tremendous response by our fire department and emergency responders yesterday when a player of ours suffered a trauma injury. We want to thank everyone involved in the City of Rainbow City, on the field and sidelines, and parents who aided in the on field accident.
We are proud to be part of a community who has such an out pouring of care toward this child and his family, and a team who felt empathy for their teammate and friend.
We are happy to say that he is recovering, and will be home with his family soon. He has a long road ahead, so please keep him in your prayers.
Yesterday, Rainbow City Fire Department responded to a call involving a pediatric patient who sustained a trauma-related injury while playing football.
Our department was able to provide four paramedics on scene, along with a dedicated transport unit, allowing for immediate advanced life support assessment, treatment, and coordination of care. The patient was transported by Rainbow City Fire Rescue 1 to the Survival Flight base for continued air medical transport to Childrenβs of Alabama for specialized pediatric care.
We would like to extend our sincere appreciation to everyone on the field and at the scene who stepped in to assist our crews. It is a privilege to serve a community where people are willing to come together and help when someone is in need.
We are also thankful for the teamwork and coordination between everyone involved in getting this young patient to the appropriate level of care as efficiently as possible.
Please keep this young man and his family in your thoughts and prayers as he continues his recovery. He is one tough little fella, and everyone at Rainbow City Fire Department is wishing him a strong and speedy recovery.
Proud to serve Rainbow City.
