Our much awaited Chorro Valley Regulators (CVR) 29th Annual SASS Western Regional Championships (and sadly possibly the last at least at this historic locale) are now in the books. Its like a huge roundup with couple hundred of your dearest friends!
SASS family from near and far Western States gathered to be together again and test our "metal" on some really fun and amazing stages put together specifically for this competition.
Since I see everyone shoot at least once during the week, I can honestly tell you that I've never seen a better match!
I have several thousand priceless memories to share tomorrow when my eyes aren't so tired but wanted to share the Overall TOP Cowboy and Cowgirl, Coyote Carson and Camp Hag! Congratulations to dear-to-my-heart folks, standing with the Legendary Hipshot (l-r). ..and to ALL our newest Champions.
You can't imagine emotions from the last 20ish years saving your memories from this particular match (well actually, you probably can) This is NOT goodbye, just see ya down the trail and can't wait to do so. HIGH SIERRA, held Memorial Weekend outside of Railroad Flat, was a banner Cowboy Competition for all! There's nowhere like it and this year we were blessed with THE best weather EVER!!!
Congratulations to our Team Shoot Winners, Royal Flush (Tom Houston), Wobblin Bob (Bob Cree) and Rum Walker (George Ground Then, a big hats off to our Top Gun Winners, Molly McGoo (Janice Ground) and BadmanBob (Bob Mann)! Hard fought battle by both.. then the grudge match...and away she went to pick up the pink Cadillac!!!!!!
THANK YOU to the whole High Sierra Crew that works so hard to keep this tradition alive! Keeping us all straight in the office, Lady Gambler and Charlie Parkhurst, and SO MANY COWBOYS in the field making all go well I dare not start.(I know I might forget someone if I do!) But you know who you are, and have our undying gratitude for the many hours put in every time we enjoy this fantastic shoot and week off the grid!
I personally thank you all since its the only place I "shoot digital AND lead." I even managed to hit a few targets! lol
