Karate Jutsu

Karate Jutsu is not a New Style or System of Karate (Empty Hand Techniques). Before WWII karate was a civilian form of self defense training. But after the war the ban on martial and the changing of Japanese culture it became less combative and more for exercise and sport. This form of training became very popular and they taught less and less of the self defense techniques. The throws and locks stopped being taught and the focus on flashy sporting techniques like head high and spinning kicks became what most people call Karate. Kata became more of a dance instead or the core of the training. Instructors use kata for grading instead of teaching the bunkai(application/analysis) which is where the Real Karate is. Striking , grappling , throws and locks are all part of training so you will be able to protect yourself at all ranges.

Sensei Matt teaches all the classes. He only accepts 20 students at a time.

Fee is Only $50 a month.
