Today we remember and honor those who made the ultimate sacrifice for our country. Because of their courage and selflessness, we have the freedom to live, train, and build communities around the things we love in the greatest country in the world. We never take that for granted.

Memorial Day at Blue Gorilla was more than just an open mat and cookout — it was time spent with teammates, friends, and family appreciating the freedoms we enjoy every day. Thankful for everyone who came out and for the community we continue to build together.

Big congratulations to Will on earning his Blue Belt tonight! 🔵

This is what dedication and determination look like. Life throws adversity at all of us, but true growth comes from continuing to show up when it would be easier not to. Will kept putting in the work, trusted the process, and kept moving forward one day at a time.

The lesson is simple: keep showing up, keep grinding, keep progressing. Proud of you, brother. The journey is just getting started. 🦍💙

For the next few weeks, Blue Gorilla is locking in on two areas that change matches and change outcomes: takedowns and passing guard pullers. 🦍

We’re going to work on closing distance, creating reactions, finishing takedowns, shutting down guards, and building pressure-heavy passing systems that lead to dominant positions. Whether someone wants to stand and wrestle or immediately sit and pull guard, we want answers.

No shortcuts. No stalling. Forward pressure, control the pace, and impose your game.

Big way to close out the day. Proud to put Erin’s 2nd stripe and Mike’s 1st stripe on tonight. These moments are reminders that progress in Jiu-Jitsu isn’t built overnight. It’s built through showing up, staying coachable, pushing through hard days, and trusting the process.
