Last week was our official first week of summer and my kids got to spend the week with Coach Cormack and his great staff at RU's soccer camp. Today [Friday June 5th] is our first day of summer without something planned and my 8 year old has already talked about camp 4 times before 8am! My 14 year old worked with two collegiate women's players and came away challenged and inspired everyday. Each night our dinner table was full of conversation from the day's activtivies - full of highlights. I watched 6 of our middle school boys soccer players grow in both confidence and skill from the week. Kids from all over the area came together - they were great kids with great attitudes - we lucked out and had nearly perfect weather. Not only were kids occupied from 9am - 3pm[full day campers], but they experienced somehting special. You can't always say that about the experience of week long camps - Thanks Coach Cormack for making this one stand out. GameDay! I’ve had the pleasure of watching play-off games the last two nights and what a great time of the year!! It’s sudden victory season - nothing closes the gap faster between expectations and outcomes! Our best soccer is ahead of us!! Let’s go Bobcats!! This week starts our postseason! One of my favorite parts of the postseason is how many alumni reach out and wish us luck. Sometimes its motivated by wishing our current Bobcats to share in their postseason success and sometimes its encouragement to finish something they started. It's sudden victory time. We need to channel the goal scoring of our very own Henry Reed - 99 career goals and I believe added 10 more over the last two alumni games. He lets his play speak for himself and his composure on the ball is unmatched. He was 'Man of the Match' for both this year and last. Let's go Bobcats!

Last week of school! 3.5 days left for Radford City Schools until summer! Wondering what to do for the first week of summer? Check this out. Here's an opportunity to start the summer off right, learning some great skills to spend the summer building upon. Soccer is one of the most accessible sports on planet earth - all you need is a ball and a little bit of space. Let's get these kids excited about the World Cup this summer and may it inspire the next generation.

Last night, we concluded the regular season - ended with 4 games in 4 days. The first two went to overtime. The third against a rain soaked rival and the last occurred between two thunderheads. We experienced the good, the bad and the ugly this week. Despite all that, we have an opportunity next week to focus on what sends us forward. We have to keep focus on the good, learn from the bad, and band together if it ever gets ugly. This guy graduates today - we've had many conversations of what it takes to focus on and strive for what's good - even through the bad and the ugly. Let's all make that choice. Here's to the class of 2026 - Proud of you guys!!

Good things do have to come to an end! ... but WE are ready for the POSTSEASON! Tonight's game is up in the air but we would love to give Bobcat stadium one more show for our 2026 Seniors.
JV at 5:30pm and Varsity at 7pm. Bring an umbrella!

They graduate Friday. Their last day of school was last Friday and Senior Night is Monday. I couldn’t be more proud! They each bring something unique to the team - Our Heroes Number 6! We play four games this week!! We will need every one of them at their best! Let’s go Bobcats! JV at 5:30 and Varsity at 7. Senior recognition will occur between the two games- parents and family should assemble around 6:30 at the bottom left side of the stands.

Today was a good day!! I was so incredibly honored to get to present the Tommy Edwards Memorial Award for the Male Outstanding Athlete of the Year for RHS class of 2026. Congratulations Cole! Well done!
