Our Eastern Nationals journey has come to an end.
The Herd 10U Whatley finished pool play 2-0 and bracket play 1-2 and, while our tournament ended sooner than we hoped, this weekend gave us something far greater than wins and losses.
These girls shared countless laughs, meals, and more Gatorade slushies than we can count. They encouraged one another, picked each other up, and never stopped believing in each other. They battled through blazing heat, poor air quality, lightning delays, rain delays, and long days at the ballpark, yet they continued to fight until the very last out.
The disappointment of elimination was real, but so was the love this team has built. This weekend reminded us that we’re more than teammates—we’re framily. We laughed together, cried together, celebrated together, and even yelled together. Those are the moments that will last long after the final score is forgotten.
To our families—thank you. Thank you for trusting us with your daughters. Thank you for hauling tents, chairs, coolers, equipment, and everything else needed to create a place where these girls could rest and recharge between games. Thank you for the fans, misters, endless water refills, and all the meals and snacks that kept everyone fueled for the next game. Your support never goes unnoticed, and this weekend would not have been possible without each of you.
As our season begins to wind down, we’re reminded that the scoreboard is only part of the story. The friendships, growth, resilience, and memories made throughout this journey are what truly define this team. Eastern Nationals was a dream weekend for everyone involved, and we’re excited to finish this season together with the same heart and determination that brought us here.
Horns up, Herd. The best memories are the ones we’ll carry with us long after the final game is played.
