There’s something special about small mountain towns. The county fair brings everyone together—locals, visitors, families, old friends, and new faces. It’s a place where connections happen naturally.

At Sierra Buttes Trail Stewardship, we think trails can do the same.

Maybe it starts with renting a bike from the local shop, grabbing a coffee downtown, or joining a group ride. Maybe it’s cheering someone on at the River Jump, laughing through a Pixie Bike race, showing up in a ridiculous costume, or dancing at one of our trail parties. Before long, strangers become riding partners, volunteers become lifelong friends, and a weekend trip becomes a reason to keep coming back.

The trails are what bring us here, but the community is what keeps us coming back.

Every event we host is about more than bikes. It’s about creating a place where people connect, local businesses thrive, and mountain towns stay vibrant. In many ways, our events become a modern-day fair—a celebration of adventure, creativity, and the people who make these communities feel like home.

See you on the trails, downtown, and maybe in costume.

Reserve your seat and check out the new trails built by the Sierra Buttes Trail Stewardship Pro Trail Crew last fall and winter. Book single seats, or rally your ride crew to reserve a private shuttle, at yubaexpeditions.com. Get the goods, and support trail work—shuttle proceeds benefit the SBTS Pro Trail Crew's work to maintain all the trails on Hough and throughout the Lost Sierra.

We’ve talked a lot about all the new trails on Mt. Hough, and now you can see it all for yourself on the new Mt. Hough paper maps. On the heels of officially completing the 10-year Mt. Hough project—in partnership with Plumas County and the Plumas National Forest—, in which the SBTS Pro Trail Crew built some 70 miles of singletrack on Mt. Hough in Quincy, we produced updated maps so you can plan your next ride or hike and see how all the new trails link up. You can find the map at yubaexpeditions.com, or stop into the shop in Quincy to purchase. Proceeds support the trails!
