With the cancellation of a few of our planned races, we’ve found plenty of ways to keep busy this summer. We’ve been boating on the Columbia River, driving our 427 Camaro in a 4th of July parade, celebrating 48 years together, watching fighter jets fly overhead, and the fun still hasn’t stopped! We can either sit around and sulk about things, or we can get up, move forward, and make the best of each and every day… we’re betting you know which we’ve chosen!
Thankfully, we were still able to spend some time at the track attending the Seattle Nationals. We saw many friends while helping our left side cylinder girl JoJo Dooley qualify #1 in Top Dragster at 6.12 in the car I sold to her and her dad Mark, who is actually our right side cylinder guy!
We also took advantage of the downtime to make some upgrades within our own racing program. We had some new earpieces installed at the Kalitta camp where Doug and Shawn even took a look, and then made our way over to Brownsburg for a new fire bottle install at RPM. Thanks Squig, you’re a friend for life! Joey Gorman, head nitro tech, came by and tagged the chassis as well as looked over the whole car for us which we also really appreciate. Both wings were certified at Aerodyne, great people there as well! As a result, we officially have an NHRA LEGAL T/F car!!!
Brownsburg is the bomb!
We were scheduled to make license runs this weekend in Martin Michigan, but the weather has shut us out unfortunately. Just a small roadblock on this journey, and this is racing… it surely won’t be the last! We plan to find a place before the US Nationals.
A huge thank you goes out to our crew – Austin, JoJo, Mark D, Mark S, Jeff, Moe, Tyler, Brandon, Joe and the others that play a role in this wild journey. Thank you to Right Trailers for the continued support. Michael, you are a great dude!
As for Ronna, you always push and support me and I can’t thank you enough!
Love you all and see you at the races,
Bernie & Ronna
