Adirondack Bass Club The Adirondack Bass Club is a highly competitive bass tournament fishing club. We are constantly looking to add to our membership for the upcoming year.

Our club is made up of area residents who enjoy and wish to learn more about competitive angling. We are also very dedicated to our area youth, conservation and preserving our natural resources for future generations. We are members of ESPN’s B.A.S.S., the National Bass Chapter Federation and the New York State Bass Chapter Federation.

Sunday 10/5 was the Adirondack Bass Club end of the year classic held on Brant Lake. Taking the win was team Rich Ortiz and Ed Gendrin with 5 bass weighing 20.88lbs and they also had lunker with a 5.02lb LARGEmouth! Congratulations you two! In 2nd was team Bob Batchelder and Mark Jedrick with 14.89lbs. In 3rd was team Brian Welch and Ron Ehnholt with 14.15lbs. Nice job guys! And that is a wrap on the 2025 season! The last points tournament took place this past Sunday on Saratoga Lake and taking the win was Ed Gendrin with a weight of 9.31lbs. He also got lunker with a 2.51lber. In 2nd was Don Austin with 9.13lbs and 3rd was Brian Welch with 9.09lbs. Very close between 1st and 3rd! Very tough lake this time of year due to all the fishing pressure. Congratulations to Brian Welch who sealed up Angler of the Year! Our last event of the season will be the club classic to be held on Brant Lake on 10/5.

Thanks to all that came out and fished with us on Sunday for the 21st annual Walter Bujanowski Memorial tournament on Lake Champlain. Walt was an original member of the Adirondack Bass Club and sadly we lost him way too soon to pancreatic cancer. Taking the win was team Corey DiLorenzo and Luke Musto with 16.46lbs, 2nd was team Greg Holcomb and Kelby Treaux with 15.07lbs, and 3rd was Bob Batchelder with 15.02lbs. Lunker went to team “Ben” with a 4.66lb big un!

The Adirondack Bass Club is hosting the 21st annual Walt Bujanowski open this Sunday on Lake Champlain at the Ticonderoga ramp. This is an open team tournament, $100 entry, $10 optional lunker. Congratulations to Rich Ortiz on taking 1st place with 16.09lbs at Sunday’s Adirondack Bass Club points tournament on Lake Champlain at the South Bay ramp. 2nd was Bob Batchelder with 13.59lbs and 3rd was Shane McCabe with 13.52lbs. Shane also had lunker with a 4.73lb bass. Our next tournament is an open team tournament Sunday August 31st on Lake Champlain at the Ticonderoga launch! Come fish with us! The 4th stop of the Adirondack Bass Club points trail brought the anglers to Lake Champlain at Port Henry on Sunday July 27th. Brian Welch took 1st and is on a HEATER with 13.42lbs of green bass! In 2nd was Nate Lewis with 12.55lbs. 3rd was Bob Batchelder with 10.98lbs. Lunker side pot went to Ed Gendron with a 5.13lb FENCE PANDA! Congratulations guys!! The next points tournament is back on Lake Champlain but this time at the South Bay ramp on 8/17.

The Adirondack Bass Club anglers brought in some G-G-G-G-GIANT bass today at the Schroon Lake points tournament! First with 21.93lbs anchored by a 6.16lb TOAD was Brian Welch! 2nd was Rich “the fishin’ musician” Ortiz with a solid weight of 17.35lbs. 3rd was Mark Jedrick who had 14.74lbs and took lunker of the day with a 6.3lb largemouth BEAST FROM BENEATH! Wow! Bob Batchelder was 4th with 11.74lbs and had a 5.58lb BIG-UN! Way to go!

Congratulations to Lou Zahra and George Yund for taking the win at the Adirondack Bass Club’s Summer Open on Lake Champlain at Port Henry today with a 5 bass limit weighing 19.34lbs, all largemouth! In 2nd was Scott Kirkpatrick with 18.03lbs who had a mixed bag of smallmouth and largemouth. 3rd was Luke Musto and Corey DiLorenzo with 16.03lbs and 4th was Brian Welch and Russ LaChapelle with 15.66lbs. Lunker of the day went to team Nate Lewis and John McDougall with a 4.25lb largemouth.

Congratulations to Don Austin on taking the win in the Adirondack Bass Club's first points tournament of the season on Lake St. Catherine Saturday June 14th weighing 15.91lbs and taking lunker with a 4.61lb largemouth. Brian Welch took 2nd with 14.2lbs and Nate Lewis took 3rd with 13.4lbs. The highest finishing non-boater was Mark Jedrick with 11.17lbs. Way to go guys! Our next points tournament will be on Schroon Lake July 13th.

The Adirondack Bass Club will be hosting an open team tournament this Sunday June 22nd on Lake Champlain at the Port Henry launch. $100 entry fee with a $10 optional lunker pool. Our first two paper tournaments are in the books! Now it is on to our points tournaments with the first one taking place June 14th at Lake St. Catherine! To recap our paper tournaments, at Cossayuna Lake on 4/20, Rich Ortiz weighed in a 5 bass limit for 24.02lbs taking 1st place and also had lunker with a 6.25lb largemouth. 2nd was Brian Welch with 15.49lbs, and 3rd was Bob Bachelder with 14.01lbs with a 5.8lb kicker! Nice job guys! This past Sunday, May 19th, on Lake George, Rich Ortiz continued his hot streak taking the win with an impressive 5 bass limit weighing 26.72lbs and also took lunker with an absolute behemoth 6.64lb largemouth (see pic). In 2nd was Addison Kelly with 20.37lbs. He had a 6.01lb kicker! In 3rd and cashing in two straight tournaments was Brian Welch with 20.29lbs! Lake George really turned out some nice fish on an overcast and rainy day!

Looking for a new boat? Come to the Great Upstate Boat Show this weekend and visit Alpin Haus! There will be some great deals that are only available for the duration of this boat show. Adirondack Bass Club Vice President Corey DiLorenzo will be there helping them out Saturday & Sunday from 10AM - 5PM, stop by and say hello. They will have a Tracker Pro Guide V16 Walk Through (WT) with a 75 HP Merc. They will also have some pontoons (Party Barge 16 & 20) and more. Open water season is here, LETS GOOOOOOO!!
