KYRSTEN SOVEREIGN MEMORIAL BARREL RACE

Some people become part of our BRDS family simply by showing up, sharing their smiles, and spending their evenings with us. Kyrsten was one of those people.

A bright, beautiful young woman, Kyrsten joined us at our races each week with her friends. In July, her life was tragically cut short while she was on her way to one of those races.

On March 3, we’ll come together to remember Kyrsten, celebrate her life, and honor someone who will always be part of our barrel racing family. 🤍

As we begin planning her memorial race, we are looking for EVENT SPONSORS and DONATED ITEMS to be raffled at the race.

Added Money, gift baskets, gift certificates, tack, handmade items, products, services there are so many ways businesses and individuals can contribute. Items don’t have to be horse related!

If you would like to sponsor the event or donate a raffle item, please message us so we can coordinate the details.

Whether you join us in the arena, contribute something special, or help spread the word, we would be grateful to have you be part of this day.

We’re heading to the mountains September 19–20 for two days of racing, $1,500 added to the Open and weekend aggregate buckles!

PRE-ENTRY INFORMATION

• Saturday pre-entries close Thursday, September 17 at 11:59 PM
• Saturday’s first/early draw will be posted by 7 AM Friday, September 18
• Sunday’s draw will be posted Saturday, September 19 after the race

THIS IS THE FIRST/EARLY DRAW

If you comment with your complete information before the cutoff, you will be placed in the first/early draw. No, we cannot magically place you “early-er” than early. 😂

Rookie is for times of 21 seconds or slower. The same horse-and-rider combination entered in Rookie may not enter any other division.

💰 ENTRY FEES — CASH ONLY

• Open 5D — $55
• Youth 4D, 18 & under — $40
• Rookie 3D, 21 seconds or slower — $25
• Peewee, 8 & under — $10 with 100% payback
• Arena fee — $15 per horse for one day or $25 for the weekend
• Exhibitions — $10 unlimited per horse

SATURDAY, SEPTEMBER 19

• Exhibitions: 9:30–11:30 AM
• Race begins: 12 PM

SUNDAY, SEPTEMBER 20

• Exhibitions: 8:00–9:30 AM
• Race begins: 10 AM

⚠️ DRAW OUTS & CHANGES

All Saturday draw outs and changes must be submitted before Saturday’s first draw is posted.

All Sunday draw outs and changes must be submitted before Sunday’s draw is posted after Saturday’s race.

No-call/no-shows will still be responsible for their fees and will lose future pre-entry privileges. We rent these arenas, and holes in the draw cost time and money for everyone involved. 🫠

Heading to the Payson Showdown September 19–20? Stall and dry camping reservations are officially open.

• Stalls — $10 per night
• Dry camping — $10 per night

STALLING WITH FRIENDS?

If you want stalls together, please have one person reserve and pay for all of the stalls in one submission. That makes it much easier for us to keep your group together. We cannot guarantee that separately submitted reservations will be stalled next to one another.

PAYMENT INFORMATION

• Venmo or Zelle only
• Submitting the form does not hold your stalls
• No stalls are reserved until payment has been received
• Stall and camping reservations are nonrefundable

Stalls sold out in less than one week at our last Payson race, so this is not an “I’ll get to it later” situation. 😂

Congratulations to all of our 2026 BRDS Summer Series at Horseshoe Park & Equestrian Centre (Official) winners!

To our Open winners…you showed us incredible horsepower, horsemanship and consistency. Every division was hard fought, and every award was earned.

To our Youth winners…the future of barrel racing is looking VERY bright! Your talent, determination and sportsmanship made us proud all summer long.

To our Rookie winners…it takes courage to step into the arena, to keep learning and to come back ready to try again. Every bit of progress deserves to be celebrated, and we are so proud of you!

And to every single Peewee who joined us this summer, you are ALL winners. You are the future of barrel racing, and watching your confidence grow was one of the very best parts of our season. As for those saint horses carrying our littlest riders safely around the pattern…they deserve extra cookies, a long nap and possibly their own awards. 😂❤️

Our Heart of the Arena recipients, Linda West and Chic Bait, reminded us what this award truly represents.

Linda, the words your peers used to describe you say it all: kind, generous, real, supportive, happy and a beautiful soul. Your impact has never been measured by a time on the clock, it is measured by the way you make people feel.

Chic Bait represents the heart of the incredible horses who make this sport possible. The ones who take care of their people, give us their whole hearts and become so much more than just the horse we ride.

To everyone who entered, hauled, cheered, sponsored, volunteered, worked behind the scenes or simply showed up for someone else, thank you. Whether you went home with an award or a new goal for next season, you were an important part of this summer.

This was more than a barrel race series. It was friendships, growth, laughter, late nights, unforgettable runs and memories we will carry with us long after the dirt settles.
