"The Quakertown Skatepark is an amazing place for bikers, skaters, and rollerbladers of all ages to get together and practice their sport in a safe environment. It provides a place for participants socialize, and it promotes general overall well being by allowing all of the riders a chance to stay busy and channel their energy into something active and productive. Years ago, when the park was first built, I think few actually understood the potential of the skatepark to foster both mental and physical growth. At the park, younger generations learn from those who have come before them in their respective disciplines, and they, in turn, progress their sport. This also provides a mentoring relationship between all of the participants at the park, and a good example set forth by older riders can really do a lot to change a young person’s life. I know all of this because I’ve experienced it first hand, and I continue it and lead by example. Knowing all of this is why it makes it so important to expand the skatepark. In doing so, all of the positive things that come out of this park can be greatly increased. Through expanding the existing facilities, adding a new section to the park, and making the park more appealing to the entire community through various landscape additions, the community and the lives of everyone that will use the Main Street Park will certainly be enriched".
