The Bass & Crappie Catch & Release signs are being refreshed and will be reinstalled around the ponds shortly. Catch & release guidelines regarding fish with swallowed hooks: Cut the line as close to the mouth as possible. When a fish swallows the hook it has a good chance of survival. Stomach acids can dissolve most hooks, but if the hook is yanked out the fish has little if any chance to survive. Also, anglers should stay away from a fish's gills that they intend to release. Touching or squeezing the gill area causes damage & they can't breath.
