Alumni Update: Hall of Fame Edition!πŸ»πŸ€πŸ€©
LCDR Meghan Fornaro β€˜16 was named to the United States Coast Guard Academy Athletics 2026 Hall of Fame Class. Meghan was the 2016 NEWMAC Women’s Basketball Player of the Year, averaging 19.5 points per game, the third best PPG in program history. In her career, she ranks 2nd all-time in steals, 4th in points, 4th in field goals made, and 6th in assists.

Location: NETP (naval engineering training program), Training Center Yorktown, VA and CG Ship Yard Baltimore, MD

Duties/experiences: Learning about all different aspects of Naval Engineering the Coast Guard manages and oversees, Welding, doing a MURPH with the MK-A school, visited Annapolis, Georgetown, and DC, touring decommissioned cutters that are sold to allied countries, learning how to drywall

Favorite experience: driving and reversing a firetruck through cones

Aimee took Command of CGC Raymond Evans (WPC 1110), a Fast Response Cutter homeported in Key West. She just finished her Operations Officer tour on CGC Mohawk (WMEC 913), a 270ft cutter homeported in Key West.
