Congratulations to our Coach Abney!! 💜🤩🌪️

As a proud Purvis High School graduate, Tyler holds a deep love for the Purvis community and brings a clear commitment to serving the school system that helped shape him.

Tyler’s background includes experience across four sports at the middle and high school levels, where he has served as a coach for both male and female student-athletes. His work as a teacher and coach is shaped by the belief that extra-curricular activities elevate students’ educational experience and allow them to grow beyond the field, the stage, and the classroom through discipline, camaraderie, leadership, and character.

His wife, Caroline, is also a Purvis graduate and a former member of Purvis show choir’s “Pizazz.” Fun Fact: Coach Abney served on the backstage crew while in high school! They are grateful to raise their two children, Olivia and Abram, in the community that means so much to their family.

We are excited for the energy, hometown pride, and student-centered leadership he will bring to Purvis athletics and performing arts! Congratulations, Coach Abney! Once a Tornado, always a Tornado! 🌪️💜💛

We had an awesome tryout for next season! We want to thank each girl that came out for it and we want to encourage each of them to continue their love for this sport! Our 2027 Senior class is a record breaking number for the program and we hope to see the same interest again in May of 2027 💜🌪️🥎
