⛳️ FIELD UPDATE ⛳️

After a heavy dose of rain over the weekend, we have seemed to take on the precipitation well. Other than the heavy winds, we hope everyone had an enjoyable weekend and Member Guest event.

The greens were rolling around 11 leading into the weekend but slowed up a bit due to the moisture. We were still rolling 10 3/4 on the stimp meter by Sunday.

The Field crew has painted a blue line on the right side of 12 fairway. This is just a reference line for the fairway mowers and does not designate any type of ruling for ball lie.

The wind storms have created a bit of cleanup for us as we lost a handful of trees and plenty of branches over the week so thank you for your patience on us getting those cleaned up and repaired.

We did a clean up spray for weeds in the rough on Friday this week as we also sprayed our normal fungicide/growth regulator/liquid fertilizer spray on greens and approaches early in the week.

Hopefully our weekend is filled with nice weather and fast greens. Enjoy the course!

You do not need to be a member to eat! If you’d like to become a social member, our memberships are $10/single or $15/married.

What beautiful weather we’ve been having! It’s great to see so many of you out on the course and in the Clubhouse, thank you for continuing to choose the Punxsutawney Country Club.

The Board has some big plans to add a bar into the banquet room to lessen the interruption of the main bar during events. With that, we are hoping to receive some donation funds to help with this project. Below you will see a design plan for this new bar.

Along with the new bar, we would like to add some more patio furniture. We have been seeing an increase in memberships and use of the Clubhouse. With us having one of the only outside decks in Punxsutawney, we’d like to be able to utilize the deck to its full potential.

The Board has been working hard to bring new, fresh ideas to PCC and it is only possible because of all of you. If you would like to donate to either of these projects, please contact Bill Jordan at 814-246-8903 or see Tara or Sam at the bar. Checks should be made out to Punxsutawney Country Club with Upgrade Donation in the memo line.

FIELD UPDATE - 6/5/26

Weekly Field Update:

This week has been warm and dry. We have been running irrigation throughout the day to cool off low cut playing surfaces and hand watering greens to address hot spots and not overwater greens with irrigation heads.

We did verticut the greens during the middle of the week and have continued to cut/roll the greens. The greens were rolling at an 11 on the stimp-meter towards the end of the week.

Some small projects were accomplished this week. The pavilions received a new coat of paint thanks to Frank Fairman and Doug Smith.

We lifted the sod and leveled entry way to the cart path on the right of 18 green. Please give the sod time to root and heal in before driving over it.

Up the well road to the right of 10 fairway/green, a porta-potty has been placed for member use. We prepped a pad and the porta-john was set Friday afternoon.

We look forward to gaining our high school help back this coming week and will be looking to have the course in prime condition for the Members Guest coming up.
