Today marked the final game of the Harbor Hurricanes' inaugural season, and it's hard to put into words just how special this year has been.
What started as a group of boys learning the ropes of travel baseball became a team full of confidence, grit, determination, heart, and hustle. We watched these kids grow not only as ballplayers, but as teammates and friends. The bonds they've built this season are something truly special, and we know many of those friendships will last far beyond the baseball field.
We couldn't have asked for a better group of boys to start the Harbor Hurricanes program. Every practice, every game, every challenge, and every victory helped shape this team into something we are incredibly proud of.
A huge thank you goes to our coaching staff. They took a group of players who were new to travel ball and helped them grow into a team that could step onto any field with confidence and compete. The time, patience, and dedication they poured into these boys made all the difference. Especially, our head coach Matt. The way he encouraged and spoke to them was like no other. After every game, you wouldn't know if we won or lost by listening to one of his post game talks. He had our kids walking away with their heads held high, feeling proud of how hard they played and ready to hit the feild again. He was their biggest cheerleader and always brought out the best in them. So to Matt specifically, thank you for being you and for pouring so much positivity and love into our boys.
Lastly, to our parents, thank you. Thank you for the early mornings, long weekends, countless miles on the road, team dinners, fundraising events, and for always showing up to cheer these boys on. You weren't just spectators this season; you became a family. The friendships, support, and sense of community that developed among our Harbor Hurricanes families is something that we will forever be grateful for.
As we close this chapter, it's definitely bittersweet. We're grateful for every memory, every laugh, every lesson, and every moment we shared together. While some players will move up to 11U, some will remain at 10U, and others may begin new journeys with different teams, that only makes this season even more meaningful. We know things won't look exactly the same next year, and that's what makes the memories from this inaugural season so special.
Thank you, Harbor Hurricanes. What a season it's been. π€βΎοΈπ
