Each week I show you my skills picking games
This week,I'm showing off something else,my skills in fantasy football
Here's how you knockout #1 seed, and the second highest scoring team in my league this week
A 140 is good, and good enough to win most weeks
If I hadn't switched gadsen in last minute,id had a 230,a score I've never seen anyone achieve in a paid,FFPC league
I was set to start both gainwell and Warren
But because I had a nice lead thanks to pukas 46 Thursday night,I trued to protect it
I was afraid lions might dominate the Steelers, and I couldn't afford to have both bust
And for those wondering why I carry all these scrub quarterbacks,I'll explain
Once Daniel Jones and Patrick mahomes got hurt,it affected all my playoff opponents
Once you cut a player after week 11,noone can sign them again
So I deplete the talent pool
So next week,my opponent only has one starting option left
The chiefs 3rd string quarterback
And Wednesday ,I'll knock him out to
My starters have been set,and I had each position backed up
In case eagles rest people week 17,I'm adding their backup to protect hurts
If hurts sits,id probably play Geno Smith next week, against the giants
I've been knocking out QBs for last two weeks, and even backups, like buffalos trubisky
There's no one left who could hurt me at any other position
So I targeted defense,kickers,and QBs
Kickers and defenses can be resigned,so I had to hold them until Wednesday of each week to block them
I've had my week 17 starters prepared for weeks
I started looking at playoff defense matchups in week ten
I actually had new England for Superbowl, but mistakenly cut them, and my cousin scooped them up
But it caused him to use so much FAAB $,I'm ahead of that now,if anybody useful comes up
I make tons of moves each week, and usually just $1
I did spend to add gadsen, and he was well worth it
I spent 4 times more adding Musgrave after Kraft got hurt, and he was a bust I cut 3 weeks later
I cut 2 people before week one,and both were good moves
The only starter I didn't draft was gainwell, but I added him very early as insurance for Warren
I didn't draft the best in my league
My best move was planning in advance, instead of each week
Luck is a big factor to
As is injuries
That's why I drafted hurts over Daniels, because I know hurts is less likely to be injured, because of how strong he is
These things matter
I also streamed defenses all year, and it definitely paid off to
Id have never dreamed I'd be starting saints defense in the playoffs, but clearly I nailed it,and they scored more then #1 defense did
Do I wish i still had patriots defense for next week?
Absolutely
But once daniel Jones went down,I liked Jacksonville for week 17 ,and kept a good option
For most of the season ,I had no backups at QB,k,or defense
Only until week 11,when players couldnt get resigned, did I start dumping talent
Like Trevor Lawrence
Every opponent wishes they had him now
I'll admit,I probably should have kept him as a backup,but I didn't
Id probably start him over hurts next week, just because I worry they may sit hurts next week, since we clinched division and can't get #1 seed
So next week,I'll be facing either saints QB or Cardinals QB,and left them no other options
If brisett gets hurt or benched, their only option is to use their backup
And I'll probably knock him out Wednesday to,just in case brisett gets hurt in practice
If your opponent gets a zero at QB,victory is almost assured
If you get 20 from your defense, you should win
Remember, your not just playing your team
You have to be aware of your opponents, and what needs they have, and try to block them all you can
Flukey things can still happen
But you still gotta do all you can
For instance,I won't start Montgomery next week, unless Gibbs gets hurt in practice
But I'll hold him until Sunday
Because practice injuries happen all the time
I wouldn't start Tucker or hollins either
But they are best available to play if Puka or diggs gets hurt.
Hollins is strictly diggs backup
Last tip,use your FAAB $
They give you $1000, use it
My probable opponent next week has $800 left
He's carrying 3 people on IR,who won't play next week
That's ridiculous
And that cockiness and laziness likely will result in a loss
He only scored 118 this week, and actually had some way over perform to get that, like fannin
I know the team I just beat is way better then next week's likely opponent
That's all the tips I have for now,for this late in season
Next season, before you draft, make your own draft board, and stick to it
Mark off players as they are drafted, and you should find great value later on
Players people forgot about or overlooked
We have to make our own boards
But it's ok to cross reference that with other professional sites to
My personal favorite is draft sharks
Find one you trust, and like, and stuck with them for advice
Start who you think is best, always
But try to understand their reasoning to
They may alert you to things you don't know
Because they will have logic to
Also, don't worry about where you draft
I actually prefer #12,so I get #12 and #13 picks
My team picked #9 this year, and I'll post a screenshot of draft in comments
Puka was a steal at #9
Henry underperformed
I lost #3 pick hill
I chose Harvey to high, but he's been valuable in second half, after Dobbins got hurt
I busted on Joe mixon ,who never played at all
I drafted bad defenses, like Dallas and Baltimore
Parsons hadn't got traded yet ,and no one knew ravens would get so many injuries
But thanks to waiver wire,I covered it all up
We don't have the ability to trade in FFPC,which is only thing I don't like
