𝐁𝐑𝐀𝐍𝐃 𝐏𝐑𝐎𝐓𝐄𝐂𝐓𝐎𝐑𝐒.

Our brand values are simple: Protect, Build, Earn, Finish.

Every week, we will select four members of our team to represent us before kickoff. These four guys will be selected based on who our staff feels best exemplified our Brand Values during the week.

It is an honor and a privilege to be selected as a captain. It shows the result of protecting the brand, representing something bigger than yourself, having high character, being highly competitive and displaying an excellent work ethic.

Our goal is to push each other. Our goal is to make each other better. But above all, our goal is to leave The Brand better than we found it.

We present to you, your Week Two Brand Protectors: Jerico Jaramillo, Landen Cordova, Israel Allen and MJ Molina.

𝐅𝐈𝐍𝐀𝐋.

We did a lot of things right and we learned a lot of lessons tonight. Nevertheless, we are grateful to walk away with a win tonight and Monday can’t come soon enough when we get back to work.

Junior QB MJ Molina tossed 3 TDs in his first career start, two to Junior Israel Allen and one to Senior Landen Cordova. And Julio Araujo-Espinoza added a rushing TD.

Defensively, the boys were flying around. Roger Krummel recovered a fumble while Desmond Burton added an interception.

A ton to be proud of and a ton to clean up, but one thing about this team that we are seeing is they love being together and competing. We’ll get back to work and prepare for a tough Evergreen team next Friday on the road again.

𝐌𝐎𝐑𝐄 𝐁𝐘 𝐁𝐄𝐇𝐀𝐕𝐈𝐎𝐑 𝐓𝐇𝐀𝐍 𝐁𝐋𝐎𝐎𝐃.

We asked a lot of our program this summer. We asked our players to trust the process, to grow together, play for each other and to keep building on the foundation that was laid before them.

Our goal was to have both of our teams in the finals. When we fell short of that in the semifinals, the focus turned to “win it for your brothers.” And win it, we did. It took contributions from everyone. It took leadership and a tough grind. It took adversities and clawing your way through to a place we could be proud of.

This summer, we brought in four rock solid college baseball players to coach our kids and allowed our staff to sit back, evaluate and plan for our future. We want to thank Justin Arellano (Justin Arellano), Colton Calderon (colton calderon), Manny Grajeda (Manny Grajeda) and Kaleb Ortiz (Kaleb Ortiz) for giving their time this summer. Our program is better because of the four of you and we cannot wait to see you continue your baseball careers.

Summer League Champions is nice, but this Brotherhood is special and it goes beyond just winning games…it’s a family. It requires trust, patience, hard work, a deep buy in to our core values, and the belief that you are exactly where you are supposed to be. We are excited for what the future holds on the Southside.

Let’s go! Welcome to the Southside, Coach!

𝐖𝐄 𝐆𝐎𝐓 𝐎𝐔𝐑 𝐆𝐔𝐘.

We are extremely excited to announce the hiring of our new head coach, Mr. Major Willette.

Originally from Ogden, Utah, and raised in Phoenix, Arizona, Coach Willette played collegiate basketball at Phoenix College before finishing his playing career and earning his degree at CSU-Pueblo.

Over the past five years, Coach Willette has coached with the Steel City Stars girls travel basketball program, led numerous youth recreation league teams, and founded UPTOP Training, where he has helped athletes of all ages develop their skills, confidence, and work ethic.

Coach Willette is committed to building a program founded on accountability, discipline, toughness, and family while helping our student-athletes grow as leaders both on and off the court.

We are excited to welcome Coach Willette to the South High family and can’t wait for the future of South Girls Basketball!

Another one for Pueblo to be proud of. Congratulations to Coach D. Gavin, Coach T. Gavin and Coach Downs on an epic run.

Big shoutout to our three guys. All week Caeden Herrera, MJ Molina and Kade Ortiz put nose to the pavement and grinded for this team.

2026 senior Caeden Herrera was named the tournament gold glove winner. 2026 senior Kade Ortiz was named umpires choice for Catcher of the tournament and 2028 sophomore MJ Molina was named to the All Tournament Team. Both Caeden and MJ pitched the championship game with Kade behind the dish. Best of luck to the Azteca boys in the Bado before they head to South Dakota for the big one.
