Doors for the Handy Billy which will be under the bench seats. Decided to paint white, one more coat then put the metal screens on. Was kind of tricky cutting the corners to match, then glue, then very tiny bards to hold them together more

Have the deck installed with easy removal brass screws. Used the screws to also finalize placement of port and starboard thwarts/bench seats. Next step make 3 more support wood pieces and place each one under the long thwarts, in between the other two supports, and the third under the aft seat, right in the middle for support. All three will be positioned under the thwart but closer to the inner edge and in line with the other thwarts. Then, make some swinging doors with brass screening to place under the side thwarts for storage, screening for air movement and ventilation

Decided to start finishing off seat pieces before I installed them into the boat, 2 coats done, 6-7 to go, one a day.

Heavy as hell, really would not like to make another one! Chop saw, table saw, planer, drills, dowels, glue and a few big hammers.

Back to the re-build/renovation of the 18’ Handy Billy for the winter. Whole boat now has 2 coats of primer, no paint until every thing else is done.

Next up dry fit the deck planks so I can figure out how to support the seats and benches. Also need to start thinking about replacing wiring, cables, etc etc

Back at the Handy Billy project. Been delaying starting up again as I found an area of rot. Was rightfully scared of the extent, but I think I opened her up and got rid of it all. Now to try and make it whole again, no pun intended.

Really nice last of the year charter. Taking the boat out earlier than normal this year, little more tired than the past 19 years at seasons end, maybe I’m feeling my age!
