Drowning doesn’t just happen at your own home. Caregivers homes, birthday parties, house sitting for a friend, vacation homes….water is everywhere and these little ones can slip away quickly without anyone noticing.

What summer looks like when your child is water COMPETENT and water CONFIDENT! She’s been doing this for years (just turned 5) but she knows, you get in the pool, you have to show mommy your float first. Show me you know how to be safe, then you can have all the fun!

It’s a hard thing to think about, but the statistics are real. Kids under 5 are more likely to drown than die in a car accident. You researched your car seat. Research your swim instructor as well. Most importantly, give your little one a fighting chance should all other barriers fail and they find the water alone. I want all of my swim babies to be happy and love swimming, but my most important priority is their SURVIVAL.
