In this video, I’m talking about licensed vs unlicensed sports cards and whether it really matters when you are buying, selling, collecting, or flipping cards.

We’ll talk about brands like Topps, Bowman, Panini, Leaf, and why some collectors prefer licensed cards while others are perfectly fine buying unlicensed cards. Personally, I do not think unlicensed cards are automatically a bad thing. In fact, some of them look better than the licensed cards, especially when the licensed designs start feeling boring or repetitive.

I kept having USPS send back my Armalope and Shell mailers saying they were non-machinable and needed another 49¢, even when there was only ONE card inside.

Meanwhile, I can put up to 12 cards in a regular #10 envelope and they go through with no problem.

So I finally stopped using the specialty card mailers and went back to regular envelopes. Since making the switch, I haven’t had the same issue.

If you sell sports cards using eBay Standard Envelope, have you had this happen with Armalopes, Shell mailers, or other rigid mailers? I’d really like to know if this is happening everywhere or if it depends on the post office.
