The clay might not look like much, but it's setting the stage for the hamon.

This batch of paring knives gets a clay coat before quenching, helping create different cooling rates across the blade during heat treatment. Then comes the quench, followed by a file test to make sure the blades hardened properly.

The hamon won't reveal itself until later, but this is where the magic starts. 🔥

Every knife deserves a sheath built with the same attention to detail.
