Now that the 2026 season has officially come to a close, all of us at Proctor KME Speedway want to take a moment to say thank you to each and every one of you who played a part in making this season happen, fans, drivers, sponsors, employees, volunteers, and supporters.

This season certainly had its challenges, but because of this community, we were able to come together and keep the wheels turning.

We once again want to thank the drivers who gave up their winnings that one night, the businesses and individuals who stepped up to provide free admission for children and students, and everyone who came together to purchase backpacks for local kids. Those are the kinds of things that make a difference, and we truly couldn’t have done it without you.

Fans: You came through when we needed you most. The second half of the season saw some incredible crowds, and seeing the grandstands filled was awesome. We hope to carry that momentum into 2027. In a tough economy, we will continue to do our best to provide a night of entertainment at a fair price. And as always, we’ll do our best to make sure you get home at a reasonable hour. Thank you for making us your Sunday home

Drivers: Thank you for making Proctor KME Speedway your Sunday night home throughout the summer. To those who made every week, thank you. To those who made it out for one or a couple of shows, thank you for stopping by and putting your trust in us. We hope to see even more of you in 2027. Best of luck during the invitational season!

Most importantly, thank you to everyone who put in the time, effort, and support to keep Proctor KME Speedway going. A racetrack is only as strong as the community behind it, and we are fortunate to have a great one.

Thank you all, and we can’t wait to see everyone back at the track in 2027!

Now that we’ve had some time to unwind and reflect, all of us at Proctor KME Speedway want to say thank you to everyone who came out for the 54th Annual Silver 1000.

Looking at the forecast throughout the week, we knew the odds weren’t exactly in our favor. But for those of us who live in this area, we also know what the big lake can do to the weather. Race day was a little bit of everything, and after working with the WISSOTA Late Model Challenge Series, we decided that pushing forward and changing the running order was the best option for everyone involved.

We sincerely apologize to the Modified drivers who were unable to run their feature. Unfortunately, there will not be a makeup date. The purse will instead be split among the field. We wish all of the drivers the best of luck throughout the invitational season.

And a big congratulations to Shane Sabraski Racing on picking up his first Silver 1000 win.

We also want to thank all of the sponsors who came on board to support this year's event. We couldn’t have done it without you. So many people and businesses stepped up with lap money, purse money and various other awards to help make the Silver 1000 what it is. If i missed anyone on the list, I'm sorry. It got a little chaotic with a lot going on.

We also had a Long Tow Award, thanks to Circle K of Proctor. That award went to Tanner Gehl of Concord, North Carolina.

We did our best to make the Ham 1 Redraw Challenge happen despite the weather. Congratulations, and happy 82nd birthday, to Bob Rich! Bob drew the pole for the 21F of Nick Oreskovich. Both Bob and Nick received $100 for drawing the pole.

Nick then opted to keep his starting position in the 1-6 swap presented by Duluth Garage Door, which meant Bob walked away with $300. I’d say that’s a pretty good birthday present!

Lastly, and most importantly, we have to thank the fans.

Without you, we wouldn’t be able to do this. With a lot of uncertainty heading into this season, you all continued to show up and support us, even with the weather looking questionable.

We truly appreciate every person who walked through the gates, every sponsor who stepped up, and everyone who helped make the 54th Annual Silver 1000 happen.

Thank you all once again. We’ll see you in 2027 for the 55th Annual Silver 1000. Hopefully with a little less rain.

-Hunter
