Eight seasons ago, we started Northern Lights Softball with the goal to help advance Princeton softball by giving our girls the opportunity to play more, develop their skills, and compete at a higher level.

Tonight, that original 10u team played its final game together. With several of our players aging out, it marks the end of an era for Northern Lights.

Over the years, Northern Lights grew to as many as four teams across four age groups, bringing together athletes from Princeton and neighboring communities.

We’re incredibly proud of the athletes who have been part of Northern Lights. Our players have earned All-State, Academic All-State, All-Region, All-District, and All-Conference honors. While Princeton’s Final Four appearance last year - the program’s first in 31 years - belongs entirely to the players, coaches, and the Princeton high school softball program, we’re proud that many of those athletes also wore a Northern Lights jersey. The same is true for our outstanding players from neighboring communities who have helped their own high school programs achieve success. It’s been a privilege to watch so many young women make an impact for the schools and communities they represent.

As this chapter closes, there will be roster spots available for a new Northern Lights team next season, and we’d love to see the tradition continue.

Thank you to every player, parent, coach, and supporter who has been part of Northern Lights over the past eight seasons. We are grateful for the memories and the friendships that extend far beyond softball.

Best of luck to our Northern Lights players as they prepare to transition to their high school seasons.

Northern Lights 18u kicks off their season for the third year in a row at the Tiger Classic in Columbia at 6:50 pm this evening. We will play two pool games tonight, catch the Mizzou Tigers softball team in action on Saturday afternoon versus Alabama, finish up pool play on Saturday evening, and compete in bracket play on Sunday.

Let’s go make another season of memories! 🥎🩵❤️

Northern Lights Softball has ✨ TWELVE ✨ current/former players representing their high school teams at the MSHSAA 2025 Fall Softball Final Four this weekend in Springfield. Best of luck to all, and especially to our current 18u team players Shayden Berndt, Evan Boxley, Riley Clark, Ainsley Cowan, and Kaydence Stockman. We are so proud of you! 🩵♥️ We will be cheering loud and proud for your Princeton Lady Tigers!

Seven years of playing together, and this team has built more than just softball skills. ♥️🩵

This Fourth of July, we spent the evening at Lake Thunderhead, gathered to watch our teammate Makkie perform. We are all so proud of her, and in awe of her talent! 🇺🇸

The night wrapped up with an awesome fireworks show over the water. 🎆

The team may or may not have assisted Makkie in singing the National Anthem before the fireworks show. 🤣
